Hey guys,
I purchased Serato last week, and I am enjoying it very much. I wanted to know if it's necessary to have an external drive connected to my mac, or can I utilize my internal drive (which contains my itunes library). Apart from backup purposes, is there an advantage to having an external drive/macbook/serato combination? Any feedback would be appreciated.

THANKS!!!

External works good for back up, or overflow... but I like using the internal.. faster access.. if you bought the upgraded HD in you Macbook Pro.. but I have had no problems.. just use your drive utility to keep things running clean.

people often use them because they are running out of space on their internal drive. It makes bringing your library to othre gigs easier, meaning you can plug into a friends computer running Scratchlive, but I personally like a really big internal drive and storing it all there.

Thanks guys....just to be safe I'll make a backup of my files on an external. You are right though...it's much less of a chore just using the internal drive!
