I have a mac os x 10.5.4 with 2.2 gh intel core duo and 4gig of ram.
i just bought serato a few days ago and ever since i tried using it EVERY TIME i try to close it, my mac gives me the beach ball and freezes. i have to manually shut down the computer and i usually have to do it twice bc/ it will not start up all the way or take longer than i can wait. i do not have any other programs open. it does this whether i have the control CDs in or not! please help.
also, i cannot get my right calibrating circle graph above 60%
please help. i cannot have it crashing on me during a gig.

i have the newest update of serato 1.8.1?
actually i just found out that i can go to the finder and force quit serato. it says that it is unresponsive.
is it ok to restart the computer with the hardware still on and hooked up?
the right calibration circle is still only giving me 60% and the circle has this weird looking speckled fuzz on the inside of the ring. the left is 100%.
i read in the forum about changing the folder name and getting the 1.8.2 version but i want to make sure this is the case for me.

every thing is brand new just out of the box. i use an external HD formatted for mac ext journaled.
i turned off the wireless and relaunched scratch and ALL OF MY MUSIC IS GONE! i had i read my itunes and all of my playlists and everything is gone. i use the newest itunes 8 version.
I HAVE TO FORCE QUIT SCRATCH EVERY TIME I TRY TO CLOSE IT. this is ridiculous man what is going on?
the calibration of the right CD player is still only 60% i am using a brand new B-52 Prodigy combination dual CD player/mixer.
i am going to change the name of the serato folder like i read in another post. if this does not work i will upgrade to the 1.8.2 beta version.

i deleted that folder and emptied the trash and opened scratch again. in full screen mode when i try to close it freezes up and i have to manually shut down, but when i click the green button first i can access the finder to force quit so i do not have to shut down.. i am not doing anything else.
i heard this program was easy to use and i everyone praised it. i am very disappointed.
i am not doing anything else until i get a response. maybe i can get a refund.

hi,
yes.
1. i changed the rpms to 45 and the calibration works a little better. in the 80s somewhere. constantly moving up and down. this is in my room. the noisiest thing is the air conditioner which is close by.
2. another big problem is that every time i open serato it reloads my itunes crates and does not show my playlists.
3. also, 90% of the songs have a disc that looks like it has a crack in it. so that means i need to "re-encode" them? what does that mean? why does serato keep doing this?
HOW DO I UPLOAD A SCREENSHOT OF THE CALIBRATION? HERE IS THE COPY. DOES THIS WORK? Picture 3

I helped Micaiah over the phone. Turns out he had master tempo/key lock enabled on his cd players.
All is well now.
