okay i've read all the threads having to deal with this issue but i'm not totally convinced. macbook vs macbook pro, my conclusion came out that they are both the same in the sense that they can both carry the same amount of memory and ram but the pro has a bigger screen and can be upgraded to 2.5 or 2.6 ghz. but everything else is pretty much the same. can i get other pplz thoughts? i have a macbook and i can return it for a macbook pro but i need some convincing feedback. thanks

Unless you are doing video, there's no reason to get the Pro. A regular Macbook runs SSL just as good as the Pro. Unless money is no object and you absolutely want the Pro, it's not necessary.

i see, i saw some of your videos on youtube and i left a message asking a question about transfering crates from a mac to a pc external hd. but you can get back to me there.

I'm running SSL on a MacBook.... Have no problems whatsoever.... If yo want to check my specs, they're all listed in my profile.... For just running SSL, a MacBook Pro is a waste of money unless you are either using it for multiple programs, video editing or want a massive screen.... Also, what were you wanting answered about hard drives...?

usually better to get more than you need at the current moment. When working with video, macbook pro has the beefier specs. In the long run you might be doing yourself a favor.

i think i've made my choice. i'm going with the macbook pro only because i do alot of video editing as well as use it for serato. but i will only be able to get the 2.4 ghz with the 200 gb hard drive. thanks everyone

one question with the macbook. how come when you use an interface for recording on audacity it keeps saying usb overlaod too much power is going through. ive used pro tools that didnt work because of the amount of power that was going through. now ive bought a focusrite saffire le and the same problem has occured. it keeps cutting out the usb on scratch live. the focusrite uses a firewire so there shouldnt be a problem with the usb usage.
what is it that you do your recordings with and any suggestions what i should do thanks
