Serato has crashed twice when i´ve been playing, not as much as a crash but more like it "jumps" out of the program. Both times when it crashed i was playing a mixed cd ripped as one big mp3. After that i´ve just restarted serato and everything has been working fine again. Is there some sort of file i can look in to see crash records or ? Otherwise serato has been running like a dream on my computer, no lag, no funny stuff, no problems what so ever.
I´m running serato on a intel core 2 duo 1.66 ghz (T5500) with 1 gb of ram.
I´m using winx xp home edition service pack 2 and serato version 1.8.1.

If you haven't already, run all your tracks through the Overview Builder (here's a How-to video -->> www.serato.com )
After all the overviews are built, remove any damaged/corrupt files from your library (they'll have a cracked CD icon).
Also, install the 1.8.2 beta version before doing anything -->> www.scratchlive.net

Yeah, 1.8.2 is solid and should be available within a week as a final version.

having more problems with serato, today i froze 5 hours into the gig. The program stopped responding and the music went away. Rebooted my laptop twice and still the same problem, if i open windows task manager it says scratchlive and program not responding. HELP!!
I haven't changed anything in my configurations on the laptop or made any changes to anything... i will try and update serato and see if that helps.

i've had similar (thought not quite so devastating) things happen in last couple of weeks. after about 5 1/2 hours i had one ten second freeze up, no music. then the week later it happened twice.
absolute nightmare, and not a problem I've had for quite a while, it would appear that intalling 1.8.1 is the issue. so i've rolled back to 1.8.0 and will give that a go tonight. fingers crossed

1.8.2 has quite a few bug fixes and well worth the time it takes to install the update :)

i've installed 1.8.2, fingers crossed! :)
Is there some way to find out what causes crashes like this, or other more devastating problems ? Some software i can run if it crashes or some kind of log file i can look in for more information ?
As i said earlier i do 5 gigs or more a week and have switched to serato complety, it´s a very reliabe software, half a year of gigs and nothing major. But as everything else i expect problems at some point and when the problems occur it would be very nice to know where to start. This forum is a great place to do that, but sometimes you just don't have the time to wait for replies :D

Scratch LIVE does not currently create it's own crash log file, but you may be able to find a general system crash log file within a log files folder on your computer.

Well, yesterday everything went fine. But i really don't know if i fixed the glitch or not.
I made some changes to my usual configuration (new usb-cable, using a different usb-port, using an external power supply for the serato box, cleaned my control cd's and installed 1.8.2).

1.8.2 has quite a few added fixes to help prevent weird crashes and etc. If you run into any other issues, please let me know.

Hi DJ Johan,
I notice you are on XP. You could enable Dr Watson if you wanted to send a crash dump file to us. Fingers crossed you wont need to now though :)

Since i installed 1.8.2 and changed my configuration a little bit i haven´t had any problems. Yesterday after my gig i installed the final version of 1.8.2 so i hope that will fix everything.
Should i install sp3 for windows also ?

my serato wouldnt open today twice because that messages with different languages came up and i had to restart the computer. and when i did open it there was no signal in setup that had dissapeard no scope.
i returned back to 1.8.0 because this all happened with 1.8.2 and 1.8.1 is there anything i can do to fix this.
