As well as other users I observed that Scratch Live (here version SL 1.8.1) changes and/or removes certain ID3v1 tags. I put an MP3 file, which was tagged with ID3v1 and ID3v2.3 both, into Scratch Live and built the overview. After that I determined the changes and saw the following:

- The value of `Year' in ID3v1 was removed.
- The value of `Genre' in ID3v1 was changed from `Hip-Hop' to `Other'.
- The value of `Track #' in ID3v1 was changed from `4' to `0'.
- There were no changes regarding existing ID3v2.3 tags, moreover (as expected) SSL added own ID3v2.3 tags.

This issue is not really important for me, since I do not need the ID3v1 tag. Anyhow, I'm curious why SL changes the tags. Is there any way to avoid that? It is a (minor) bug IMHO, will it be fixed in future versions of SL?

Hello LosMintos,

ScratchLIVE does not get along too well with id3v1 tags.
We suggest converting all of your id3 tags to version 2.3.

I already use ID3v2.3. But this does not solve the problem, that SSL changes/deletes ID3v1 tags. Reading Your answer I guess there are no plans to work on that. (It's fine for me, I don't need/use ID3v1 in any way.)

One should think about a remark in the manual. IMHO the user should know, that his/her ID3v1 tags will get changed in an unexpected way.
