I have read many threads pertaining to this issue and I try to do what they say but i still don't get it. I click on the slider to calibrate and the slider bounces to the right and then to the left, is that normal as long as it stops around 60 or so?
i also read where it says to keep one turntable with music on while you hit the slider of the other one (needle on record & table still). I do this and they go all the way to the right and do not move at all to the left.
if i do this with the music off, they bounce a little to the right and then moves up to the left.

Konix posted a great link for you.

It is good to have music playing on a different source than what you are setting your "estimate" levels on. When there is no background noise, it will jump to the left. It is important to have that noise there. Check the link and let me know if you have any questions.

Yes I read the link, I do what it says but still jumps to the right and remains there with music. without music jumps to the right and gradually goes to the left around 60 or so.

Hold on i missed the part about the music has to be from a cd or INT mode... I was trying it in REL mode, I will change it to INT mode and try it... I will get back yo you on the results.

make sure the numbers in the upper right hand corner of the scope view are not fluctuating.

what should i do if they are? I am calibrating the threshold is setting at around 36, and 42, it seems to be okay, when I dont have music on its calibrating around 62+ is that where its suppose to be?

it should be wherever it is not flucuating. 36 and 42 are not unheard of and you do want to set it with music playing on the other deck. Also if you can, make sure that you don't have the SL1 box located near any power supplies.
