I have a Mac Book Pro Intel Core Duo 2 10.4 OSX. I use a Western Digital External drive. Serato 1.7.4. ran great. It has the occasional USB alert, but never anything major. I've tried installing 1.8 twice now and it doesn't run. It either won't load my songs, I crate using ITunes, or it'll just quit on me. Any ideas?

To clarify it appears to freeze up, or quit when it starts to load ITunes crates.

Hi inteltone,

have you tried turning off import aac files?
Intelone 10:25 PM - 3 March, 2008
No. I will give that a try.

Been playing around with it for a couple of hours. Seemed to do the trick. Thanks.

nice one

It's doing it again. 1 out of 5 times it will load normally, otherwise I get the dreaded color wheel.

hmm, that's no good, there is a fix for this in 1.8.1, which will go into public beta soon, but until then it might be a good idea to just import your songs directly and turn off import iTunes library.
Intelone 11:02 PM - 10 March, 2008
OK. Is there a way to bulk import or do I have to do import songs individually?

you can drag folders form the import panel onto the all crate, or onto the crate list to turn them into crates...

So I've tried 1.8.1 and 1.8.2. They now sometimes load, but generally quit or cause me to get the Mac color wheel while loading. Any ideas? Yes most of my songs are still in Itunes, but this problem doesn't really seem to effect my friends running Serato with Itunes.
