I am not sure if this is normal - but when I slightly shake or wiggle my SL4 box (something I discovered by accident)... I hear a slight rattling/metal clunking sound inside the box.
Does anyone else hear any sounds when they move their SL4 boxes up in the air and gently shake them? I am concerned that something might be defective in my new box, and I have been extra gentle and careful with it all this time.
Thanks for any responses in advance.

Hi FireWire,
You said "I am concerned that something might be defective in my new box", exactly how new is the box? Is it still under warranty?
Have you ever dropped or banged the box against anything? Other equipment when setting up maybe? I have an SL 4 box here and there is definitely not meant to be any rattling or clunking.
I would recommend you get in contact with www.rane.com to organize a repair if it needs one. But if it is a new box you should be able to return it/claim it under warranty.
It would be best to get a Rane technician to have a look and confirm there is nothing defective inside.
Hope this helps you out,
Cheers

Hi Scott - thanks for the response.
I will inquire with Rane about the warranty of my unit.
I never dropped it, never hit it against anything, and nothing ever fell on it or hit it by accident - I've always been very careful.
Upon a closer 'listen' on as to what is rattling - I concluded that it is the metal contacts inside the RCA ports on one side.
I will be testing the functionality of the box soon again, and hopefully there is nothing wrong.

Cheers mate hopefully it is nothing serious and you won't have to send it away to be repaired.
Test the unit and let me know if everything is in working condition.
Cheers :)
