Hello!

I own more than 20,000 songs in my collection with more than 80 types of musical genres classified. When I enable mode 'BROWSER' on the controller or SERATO, when surfing the GENDER column, I realize that the software "freezes" for a while (when you are browsing), besides being very slow to move from one genre to another in the list.

I've noticed that when has little gender classified in the library it does not get slow, but when you have too, it is very slow!

I use the software MediaMonkey to organize my collection and how it has BROWSER, like the SERATO, I have not noticed slowness when using it. In it works normal, no problem!

You would know how to tell if a bug or is it anyway? Is expected to fix this?

Thanks!

OK.

My notebook:
ACER ASPIRE 5741
Intel Core i3-350M, 2.2GHz, 3MB L3 Cache, 2 core, 4 Threads.
6GB DDR3 1333MHz Kingston RAM
500GB Western Digital Caviar Blue 5400RPM SATA II HDD
Intel VGA HD Onboard
Sound Realtek HD Audio

My Desktop:
Self-build Machine
MB ASUS M4A78
AMD Phenom II 945 4-Cores 3GHz, 6MB Cache L3
6GB DDR2 800MHz Kingston RAM
1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM SATA II HDD
Sapphire ATI Radeon 5670 1GB DDR5, 256-bits, PCI-e 16x
Sound Realtek 7.1

In same computers, the issue occours. I think that ITCH not support many genres in library, meybe.
My songs is 320kbps/44.1kHz/MP3, ALL analyzed with ITCH. ALL perfect!

Thanks.

Hey RodrigoVolta,

Are you scrolling through the column using your mouse, laptop trackpad or on your DDJ-S1?

The link below is the optimization guide for a windows laptop. These tips will help enhance the performance of ITCH, and hopefully solve your issue and improve your usage.

Hello, Mak.

I'm browsing with DDJ-S1 and browsing with keyboard direction keys, the same problem is noticed.

My Windows is fully optimized in my desk and notebook.

Does this problem happens because the amount of genre that I have is overloading ITCH? I've reduced the number of Crates, but even so, little bit has changed.

Remember that the same problem happens on both computers: a desktop and a notebook.

Unfortunately I do not have a Mac available to do a test, but I believe that this should happen the same problem.

Hey RodrigoViolta,

Your desktop has a AMD processor, a processor that Serato doesn't support because there are a lot of tracking issues with it.

When you use ITCH on your laptop, are you running other programs at the same time?

Have you tried not using MediaMonkey as your music organizer?

Mak,

I've used MediaMonkey for test only.

Using ITCH in my desktop, the results is better than my notebook that have a Intel processor.
My notebook is optimized to djing and I use it to gig only. No app running in background or same time with ITCH.
I think ITCH do not support many genres in library, because browsing is slow.
I go to try make a little video to show what is happening and after I'll attach here.
I have almost certainly that is not computers problem.

Tks.
