I really don't like the new gain level in 2.4.1 with my 68 mixer. After re-analizing all of my tracks i have to turn the auto gain setting to 96/97db to work at the same levels as 2.3. I'm also running each line's gain level at around 2pm.
I also have found my computer heating up way to much when using Serato video. My fans end up running around 5000 rpm all night just to keep my processor cool. When the fans run at this level my computer doesn't charge anymore because the power pack is using all of its resources to power the video card and fans. <- (as told by a mac genius) I have a later 2011MBP with 16 gigs of memory so I don't think my computer is the issue. Anyone else having the same issues?

Hi there Brian,

Yes we have increased the master gain in 2.4.1 because a lot of our users were complaining that the master level was too low in previous versions.
You can just set the auto-gain feature to a lower decibel to stop this. It won't hurt or effect any of your tracks. Or you could just turn down the master gain at the top of the screen.

By the way, Scratch Live is a 32bit program, 4gb is the most amount of memory that is available to use. Having 16gb of RAM won't matter that much, but it is good to have! :)

Seeing as though you are mixing video and audio all live and at the same time, then yes your computer will get hot.
Don't worry too much about the heat, MacBooks are meant to get hot while under heavy processing. It even says that in the Macbook manual.
Are you running a third-party computer cooler or fan control program?

Cheers :)

BrianThomas,

you might want to check this out download.cnet.com

it gives you 100% control over your fans and allows you to turn them on full blast when you need it most.
