Hi,
installed update to Serato Video including Quicktime update. Now Quicktime throws up "error 46: cant find / run active x control". Now I cant run any videos and you have made it so that the plug-in is ONLY supported by quicktime. I have tried every concievable work around I can find on the net but to no avail.
Not everyone has a Mac and Ive paid good money for this plug-in. The lease I would expect is that it has support for multiple platforms.
What other work arounds do Serato suggest so I can run the application I have paid for (without having to submit to the seemingly relentless push for all serato users to buy a mac)?

If you used the QT installer from Serato you might have actually downgraded QT from a newer version and that might be the source of the issue.
Try getting the latest QT from Apple's site directly.

No luck. I installed the latest version of quicktime from the Apple website and still get the same error. I have reinstalled Scratchlive 2.0.o and gone back to the orignal VideoSL and I still cannot play any videos that I could a couple of months ago. I havent changed any file formats or locations, all I did was update serato software. This is really annoying. I just want to be able to run my video files

Hey djkork,
Im sorry this has happened to you, and isn't very clear why it would have messed up Quicktime for you.
Have you tried removing Quicktime completely in the programs manager, then download a fresh install of Quicktime from their website?

I have removed quicktime using the program manager and the uninstall feature in quicktime. I have reinstalled an older version (that came with Video-SL) and when that didnt work I removed that and installed the newest version from the Apple website... still no go. At this stage I tried running videos in iTunes and it was saying that it couldnt load certain videos (all in mp4 format) because it required quicktime. Once again I reinstalled quicktime and now iTunes will play videos but Serato wont and when I try to open quicktime from my desktop I still get the Error 46 / Active X control error.
I have tried patching the permissions using the subinacl and quicktime.cmd script but it still does not work.
Not sure where to go from here. From what I can gather it is related to quicktime permissions for users other than the administrator on a given system, but I am the only user and have full admin control.
And it still doesnt explain why it wont work using the older versions of SL and video SL.
Any ideas would be most helpful.
Thanks

OK, so with much stuffing around I got quicktime running, but I am back to where I was about a year ago. I have installed SL 2.4.1 and Serato video. Clips will play for a couple of seconds before Serato Video crashes. I get an error "Serato Video.exe has stopped working". Last time this happened with SL-video I ended up installing Haali and FDshow, but with those 2 components installed Serato video doesnt run at all. I removed them and Im left with the .exe crash. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Hey djkork,
Are you able to attach a screen shot of the error message you receive when trying to launch Quicktime? Or are you now able to launch Quicktime without issue?
Do you know what kind of graphics card you have on your computer? Check out this link if you are unsure how to do this: windows.microsoft.com
Have you analyzed all the files in the library and ensured none of them are showing the corrupt file symbol?
