I've been using Itch 2.2 with Video plugin since it was released. I download all my videos from the same two sites, and have had almost no problems.

My brand new Mac Book Pro doesn't even flinch when running video. It is 15" 2.26GHz i7 Quad Core with 500GB HD. I still use an external HD because of the space videos take up.

The problem:
Itch has crashed. This has happened twice on two separate occasions. Both times the crash happened it was right after loading a new track. There were no signs of latency, hesitation, or audio problems. The CPU meter reading is at it's lowest point and green (maybe a millimeter of the meter was green the rest black). Each time the crash happened it was using a different track.

I never have Wi-Fi on when I DJ and I make sure to analyze and rescan ID tags ever week. Itch is not showing me any corrupt files, and I check that every week before gigs as well to make sure that I don't have these types of issues...

As soon as the program crashed, Itch asks me if I want to re-open the program.

What's going on? Am I missing something or is this a known common issue? I don't see anyone else commenting on this though.. thoughts?

PS - I've been using an external HD since I began DJing with a computer. I've not had this type of issue.

Hi DeeJay Image,

I apologize for the delayed response, our Support Team has been very busy.

Have you analyzed all your files and ensured none of them are showing up the corrupt file symbol?

You mention it happens directly after loading a track, if you load the same track a few times to test, does it cause a crash also?

Hi Martin -

Yes, I analyze tracks every week before preforming - and rescan files. The same track does not cause a crash the second time. It happened on using two separate tracks on two different occasions. When trying the same track to test, the problem did not occur.

No corrupt file symbols show in my library.

Thanks, that is good to hear!

So as a test, if you were to move some of your files from the external drive over to the internal, then disconnect the external, then play for a good while just using those files on the internal, would you still experience any crashes?

Has this ever happened to you when you WEREN'T using video and just mixing audio files, with the video plugin closed?

I haven't tested moving the video's to the internal HD, but it never happened when i was just spinning audio files.

I could do that test, however, I'm not sure what files and how many to bring over since the pattern isn't consistent...

Suggestions?

Just bring over a good variety of files and perhaps enough for you to jam for 1 or 2 hours as a thorough test.

Let me know how you get on!
