Hi

My problem is not matter of versions. I want to set my Master Output level higher cause when I connect to a main mixer in any club I have to set the channel gain on it crazy high level to reach the normal sound level beside on my VCI 300 the master is on full and the gains are right before software limiting.

Cheers

it just how the vci300 is ive been posting here from the day i got my vci300 but it seem like there is not much you can do about it, if you got the MK2 then by using the power cable will boost the sound but not the MK1.. just do what your doing already keep the vci at a good level and then use the master mixer to get more volume.

Hi strykerlefty,

The external power adapter helps increase both mk1 and mk2 as well as minimize latency. I have tested both and it does give a bit more output. Also, did you try adjusting the headroom under setup / mixer? Here is a link of it. Let me know if this helps. Thanks.

Ron if your saying my vci300 MK1 should have a boost using the power cable can you point me in the right way to get my money back as that would mean i payed for a 1/2 working vci

Differences VCI-300 to VCI-300MKII

1,Volume Boost (Gain Boost)
Higher output gain level and headphone volume level when supplying power with the optional power adaptor.
Important Note: Optional power supply DC-7 must be used in order to get the boost on the headphones and Master output. Without the power supply the MKII will perform just like the original VCI-300. Also, using the DC-7 on the original VCI-300 will do nothing.

2,Optional Vestax Digital Fader (not included)
The VCI-300MKII Cross fader can be upgraded to Vestax's new magnetic sensor system digital fader CF-X2.

3,New Direct Audio Thru
Audio fed to the MIC/AUX input can now be directly sent to the Master outputs with the THRU switch turned ON, minimizing latency of when fed through ITCH.
New adjust knobs for the JOG sensor control

4,New JOG sensor adjust knobs for speedy and accurate adjustments.the VCI-300MKII's JOG wheels have excellent tracking ability,and flexibility for various play styles.You can control songs with analog precision.

5,New Mini Head-Phone Jack
1/8 inch headphone connection along with standard 1/4 inch connection.

so your saying this is wrong??

Hi dj lashes,

The external power adapter helps increase the mk1. Here is the difference of power adapters on the mk1 and mk2. You can use the SDC-7 on the mk1 but it is not recommended. Also, did you try adjusting the headroom? Let me know. Thanks.

Power adapters:
Mk1 = 9V DC (500mA)
Mk2 = SDC-7(DC7.5V 1000mA)

again the power adapter does not do ANYTHING to the volume of the master output or the headphones volume on my MK1 and if your so sure that it should then vestax sold me and 2 of my dj friends faulty vci300 Mk1 as we checked all 3 to see if the volume is increase and all 3 where NOT so it would be great if in your next reply you can point me to who i should ask for this be fixed or returned. thanks for your info i always asked myself way the volume was so low now i know it not working the way it should.
