Hi when i select to show my itunes library in Itch, some of the playlists only show some of the files, ie. in itunes i have 50 tracks in a playlist but when viewed in Itch only 15 are shown, i have tried rebuilding my itunes library and reloading it into Itch with no success! please help!

Also i cannot drag the files from itunes onto the itch player or library, i dont understand as they are pretty much all mp3 files so should be no problem!

One more thing i thought id mention, my old Traktor Pro system recognises all the files in all my playlists.

Your .XML library is huge. It may take me a while to open it.
I'll be in touch once i've been able to open it successfully.
For now, have you tried making crates within serato rather than using iTunes?
Heres a article about migrating your iTunes library just in case you'd like to move some playlist over and add new songs into your serato library.

Hi the migrating Crates thing doesnt really help me as i am still left with only the files which are showing up in Itunes playlists in the new crates i create so thats no different! :-)
Thanks for the idea though.

Hey Johnny,
There doesn't seem to be any corruption in your .XML so just need to go back a step with you.
Firstly: serato.com Have a read of this FAQ. Then;
1) Close ITCH & iTunes
2) Rename your iTunes Music Library.XML to iTunes Music LibraryOLD.xml
3) Reopen iTunes, play some tunes, also you can select all>right click>Then hit o.k (Do this to update the .xml so that ITCH can see the files)
4)Reopen ITCH and go to setup>Enable itunes, click that on and off a few times sometimes helps.
Let me know if the missing files show up.

Hey JohhnyRed,
This is the reason it will not should up normally. Once the your music files are updated to the .XML Serato software will read from that.
This step is very important, maybe when you have done it close iTunes before re-opening ITCH.
Also try moving your Music>_Serato_ Folder and Serato Backup folders to the desktop, this will make Serato make a fresh new folder in it's place, with this new folder will come a new DataBaseV2 file also and it will rescan iTunes library. Try that too.
Let me know how you go.

Hey JohnnyRed,
There isn't any reason why if you follow the steps that these files wouldn't should up?
Do you know the songs that aren't showing up? Are they all MP3's?

Yes they are all Mp3, if i transfer my playlists to folders on another hard drive then import them to itch they all show up! its a very long and tedious workaround though as i am constantly getting new tunes added to itunes on my main disk and its a pain copying them to another "solely djing" hard drive. think i might have to upgrade to Traktor 2 instead at this rate!
Arghhhhh work damn you :-)

Still thinking there is something missing from the above processes i've given you... When you say you are moving your playlists to another HD, are you moving the iTunes folder and music to that HD?

No i am opening the new hard drive and creating folders with the same names as my playlists, then opening itunes, opening each playlist one by one, and highlighting all the files and dragging them into the respective folders on the other hard drive, then i can open itch and manually import each folder of files into itch playlist, all the files then show up. very weird indeed.
