I just got my new sl2 in the mail and can't get it to work.
When I plug in my sl2 and open up the software I get the message the the hardware is not connected.
I originally plugged in the sl2, didn't allow it to load up and used the 2.3.3 update that I downloaded from Serato.com.
That did not work so I removed everything from the computer and plugged in the sl2 and let it takes it natural course and still can't get it to work.
I have gone to the Serato folder on my computer to update the driver. When I try to update it says my Sl2 is not connected and no drivers were installed.
I have looked around in the forum but not really finding what I need nor the info that has allowed me to fix my problem.

Try turning off the UAC controls and reinstalling 2.3.3 with your SL2 plugged in.
1. Shut down any open programs.
2. Click on the Start menu in the lower left corner of your desktop.
3. Click on the Search field.
4. Type in "UAC".
5. Click on the one thing that pops up.
6. Move the slider down to never and press 'apply'.
Now restart your computer to make the changes take affect.

Thanks for the help with this problem. When I am done with this fix do I then go back and put my UAC where it was before I slid it down to never?

No.. I would leave it off for good. Its Windows poor attempt at trying to protect yourself from yourself but it just ends up getting in the way of driver and program installs.

OK, I tried this but I am still being told hardware is disconnected.

Please unplug any other USB devices (except the SL2) and reinstall 2.3.3.

Unplugging all usb devices did not work either.
When I first plugged in the sl2 hardware it tried to load drivers but I stopped it because that is what the directions said to do and then load the drivers from the disc.
Can you tell me what the sl2 would have been trying to load so I can see if I can find them and delete them and start fresh. When I delete the Scratch Live software and then plug the sl2 box back in there is no automatic start of it trying to load anything anymore. I am just wondering if I could start from fresh and let it do it's thing if that will work?

Don't load anything from the disc.
At this point try downloading 2.4.1 --> serato.com.
Make sure all other USB devices are unplugged (except the SL2) and install 2.4.1.
Once installed, open the program.
If it needs to install the drivers once opened let it do its thing.
Once done, if the virtual decks still don't pop up try unplugging the SL2 and plugging it back in.
If your still having issues do this:
1. Shut down any program you have open.
2. Click on the Start menu in the lower left corner of your desktop.
3. Click on All Programs.
4. Click on the Serato folder.
5. Click on the ScratchLIVE folder.
6. Double click the 'Update Driver' link.
