I have already returned one denon 5000 unit due to this problem. After 3 hours of so there is no sound output coming from the unit. The software and the controller both function normally, however there is no sound. During several gigs I have quickly powered off the contoller unit, then turned it back on and everything works fine again. This happened for about 10 times on my first unit within the first week of using it. I exchanged it, and everything was fine for a few months, then this problem occured again. I am currently analyzing my files to get rid of any corrupted files, However, if anyone else has experienced this problem, please advise.... I love this Denon and want to keep using it....

10 times in one week :-O
that's definitely a hardware issue or something else you're using is seriously messed up.

if it started happening again now i tend to think that there might be some part of your setup that really bugs the denon because chances are quite low that your second unit has exactly the same flaw by accident.
did you try changing a few things? for example using a different usb port or different cables? maybe even borrow a different computer just for a test?

I never thought about changing out my computer.... I also use another program (winamp), that I have used without error for several years. The serato itch software is much more advanced. The sound output from the winamp program still works when this issue occurs. Also the itch software still functions normally, and even responds to the controller, it just looses sound output. I will keep trouble shooting,...

i see so just the sound output of ITCH is lost?
do you run anything else while using ITCH?
Mobile DJ and Karaoke 8:55 PM - 8 March, 2012
YES,
I run itch and winamp simultaneously. They don't seem to cause any issue with eachother. Sometimes i also run internet explorer, but only for a short time to check emails.
I have compiled all the corrupted files, however how do I delete them from my hard drive using itch? i can delete them from itches library, but on the hard drive they are harder to find because they are sorted in many different folders...

it might be worth a shot to run only ITCH and nothing else.

to delete the files directly from within ITCH just press crtl+shift+del. that will not only remove them from ITCH but also delete the actual files

Thanks,

I will delete all the corrupted files and see what happens. Thanks for the input. As far as winamp goes, I do 5 karaoke shows a week, so I need a program that can read karaoke files. I use itch for the music in between songs, and also for weddings on the weekend that entail straight dance music that must be continuous. Itch sucessfully went through the last 3 karaoke shows without any issues, so I am hoping this was due to a corrupted file or something minor. I have giged this unit about 50 times with only one crash, so hopefully the issue does not come back after I clean up the files. Last question, how do I change the pitch in itch from +-8 to +-16 and such, I am still learning how to use this software. Thanks so much

the idea is to rule winamp out as source of the problem so it'd be a good one-time test not to use it. i didn't mean to get rid of it forever.

press shift+key adj on the denon to switch throught the pitch modes and you're welcome :-)

Hi Mobile DJ and Karaoke,

and thanks everyone else for your input here :-) If you can try and run one program at a time that would be best, there should be no problem having the two installed or running them back to back.

Have you double checked all your output cables?

At the cutoff point, when the unit stops, is it consistently at that 3 hour point? Is there any errors on the software at the when it cuts off? Are you using/trying both outputs of the HC5000?
