processing produces a pop and silence

Processing either pitch shifting or time stretching/compression produces nothing but a pop and digital noise or silence. Sometimes restarting helps for 1 use maybe 2 but usually not. Sometimes processing only one region at a time rather than several regions at once helps but usually not. Pitch'n' time currently useless.

Theres a known issue that causes this in earlier versions of Pro Tools which occurs when you use another Audiosuite plug-in before using Pitch 'n Time. Can you let me know if Pitch 'n Time is the first plug-in you are using in your session?

Can you also let me know if it only happens with certain pieces of audio or with whatever you try and process?

It happens unpredictably but more often than not. Sometimes it will fail on a particular region and then later it will function fine on the same region.

I don't know for sure about Pitch 'n' Time being the first plug in I used. I wasn't paying close attention to that. Certainly on some occasions, yes, that's probably the case. I suppose it's something I can test when I have some time tomorrow.

So is there no fix for this!? I'm sitting here under a deadline trying to get my work done and I'm just stuck. Is this just something I have to deal with?

I wouldn't exactly call 9.0.2 and 'earlier' version of pro tools in the sense that it's so early that it shouldn't still be supported. Is there an update for this build of PnT that fixes this? I haven't been able to find anything on the downloads page.

Hi JamieF,

I'm afraid that there is currently not a fix for this. The workaround is to ensure Pitch 'n Time Pro is the first AudioSuite plug-in used in your session, or restart Pro Tools when you are wanting to use Pitch 'n Time Pro. I hope this helps.

I am having the same issue. I am running ProTools HD 10.1.2 on Mac OS 10.7.3 and have Pitch n Time Pro 2.5.1. I can process a file once but any subsequent attempts to process are met with about the first 3% of the file being processed and then a pop and silence for the remainder of the region. I have handles set to 0.00 in the audio suite settings to rule out a glitch with this new feature. Pitch n Time was the first audio suite plugin used after launching protools.

Also the support link to Pitch N Time on your site is broken. serato.com (linked from the support & Downloads tab at the top of this page) returns a 404 error so I am unable to submit a formal help ticket.

Hey Noise Freak,

Sorry about the lack of reply on this one, so unfortunately at this stage Pitch n Time is not supported on Pro Tools 10. Unfortunately we have no announcements to make about a future release date for Pro Tools 10 compatibility.

Also the Support link for the Pitch n Time help requests is now fixed - serato.com
