Fullscreen output is not supported on the demo version. You can always manually resize the video box on the external screen and get it close however.
It will work fine once you purchase the plug-in.

Be aware that your MacBook only has integrated graphics, so ram will be very important.
You should definitely put AT LEAST 4gb in there. I believe you can actually put 8gb in that model unofficially, you ought to google that and check.

Thankyou so much for all ye're help, i will buy video sl because its a quality product with quality support.I recently got a gig to vj in a Bar, Very unexperienced in the video djing business though and trying my best to learn.......At the moment it can be jittery while playing in video sl demo mode when i test at home on 42 inch screen so im going to take your advice and upgrade my ram to maybe 8 gb if I can , will that do the trick do you think? Is my graphics card adequate to display some what decent images on 6 screens hooked up throughout the bar? Im sorry about all these questions!!One more question would I be better off loading the videos directly off my built in hard drive or use and external iomega 1.5 tb HD

Im sure other people will help on this matter, but your laptop should be to the specs Serato require for effective operation of the VSL plugin, as mentioned above a ram upgrade will help you, but you should test before playing 'out live'.
You can only learn to VJ and you are in the right place for that, but its not just a simple case of playing a video and away you go.
There will be a few things you got to take into consideration, such things is videos, authorised pools and retailers of video discs will work great with VSL, but they need to be encoded right so that the software will work best for you.
Hardware, if the bar has a good splitter/booster for the screens, it should be easy to take your video feed out the laptop to that hardware device, but it depends on that source (s video, HDMI, VGA etc) as you will need converters/adaptors etc, some cheap ones can effect the output quality.
People will recommend that you load your video files from your laptop hard drive rather than an external drive, unless you are using a 7200rpm firewire drive, and the data transfers are a bit better. But still its better to have them on internal hard drive.
Working with video is very rewarding and when it works it works well, be prepared to spend a bit more time (and money) on a video setup.
Watch out for videos that are made for 'watching' and not dancing to, as there is nothing worse than playing a video with a 'skit' or something in the middle, of a video, as people who are not watching screens or cant see them will be thinking what the hell is going on.
So custom videos may have to be made depending on what you need to achieve.
There is plenty of topics on the forum which covers loads of these aspects, do a quick search and have a look about.
Also as i say people will no doubt chip in with their own experiences and recommendations.
Good luck with it.

Hey Sean H,
Looks like you've had some great feedback from Dj Deano, Phatbob and VJ justin. Just wanted to add to that. As Phatbob said :
Minimum Spec's for Video SL : serato.com
Also in this regard:
You'll also need to look the Distribution Amplifier at your venue that it's compatible with whatever your using for your video display adapter (see link) en.wikipedia.org
Take the advise from the other's on this thread. Let us know how you go.
Regards
Dave W

I have checked in the bar and they seem to have a good setup, all there TVs are JD compatible and it looks like they have good splitter/booster system, I am still nervous however that my graphics card is adequate to support video sl??? I have purchased 6 gb or ram for my MacBook and am currently awaiting arrival, I will let ye know as soon as I plug it in of it's effects on my MacBook and running video sl. Thanks again for all the advice and support, ye are a great bunch of lads!!!! :-)

What specific model of MacBook are you using? The video card will make the most difference in this situation..

It's the integrated 9400m, he stated in the first post...
Sean, at this stage you can do nothing but try it. You are using a mac, so with a bit of tweaking it will work, you just might not get the absolute best quality output.
Make sure that your second screen output is set to no bigger than your video files in the system prefs. Most of my videos are 640x480 so that's my output size.
No point having your mac output a full HD screen to play 480p videos. Their video system should scale up for the screens.
