Feature Reqeust - TWITCH Add on Type Controller

Musically Minded 6:13 PM - 9 February, 2012
Basically a Twitch Controller stripped of its sound card (no crossfader, up faders or eqs pots) and when pluged in it would open up 8 cue point, slicer fuction, effects control, SP6 controll etc.....

What do think?

+1 if you would buy something like this if it became available.
jprime 6:44 PM - 9 February, 2012
Not sure what you mean by "open up"....open up for what and who? I have a Twitch, it already has these features.

Or do you just want to be able to plug in an MPD, Trigger Finger, or midifighter style additional controller? (IE - your stripped down Twitch, only keep the rotaries because they are useful)
Musically Minded 6:47 PM - 9 February, 2012
yeah thats kinda what i mean, more for people who have the NS7 or DDJ-S1 or other controllers and want to add the functions that the twitch comes with 8 cue and slicer
XRM5 7:19 PM - 9 February, 2012
Yeah, they have to do this.

People who already have Twitches can buy 2 of these to have 4 decks. Everybody would want one. They just need to make them the same size/shape as the Kontrol X1 and make it work with SSL too.

i like the idea and concept, but for me i don't need the pitch control and all that as i already have the ddj-s1, just want something to add to my ddj-s1 that would open up features that it lacks, ie. slicer and 8cues.

But your drawing have pitch controls :-/

its does have pitch control, only because i didn't cut it out of the pic, i used paint to do that so i couldn't get it quite how i wanted it, but yes ur right
Musically Minded 3:29 PM - 10 February, 2012
also i like having control over both decks without having to switch layers, in ur concept i would have to switch layers depending on which deck i would want to controll, what i do like about ur concept alot is the deadicated SP6 Trigger buttons.

Same here. I too prefer a discrete controller per deck as well, which is why the concept allows for the user to select single or multi-deck operation (read thread linked above and you'll see that explained).

Check the micro switches on rear of units ;-)

to me ur idea is more a standalone controller (think V7) my idea is more to add controls that are missing from the controllers that are already out.

I understand now. The pitch control on your concepts is what threw me off.

I think that both of our idea would have there own place in the itch wolrd, urs with a sound card and mine without.

What I'm after is a Kontrol X1/F1 killer for use with ITCH. That way we have an ultra-portable control solution for use with a real analog mixer on the fly in venues.

gottcha!

As it is right now, the only choice we have is V7s, and not only are those big and not going to fit in many booths, they don't fully exploit ITCH 2.#'s features.
[O/][iii][O/] 4:33 PM - 10 February, 2012
Not to mention V7s won't function with 4-decks (even if you run 2 of them) :-(

argeed! All of the itch controllers lack something here or there when it comes to itch 2.#'s features.

ultimately i would remove the pitch controll and add SP6 controll in that area, but its hard to achive that using mircosoft paint lol

Yep, so much for Serato's claims...

Don't get mme wrong, I love them, but there seems to be a lot of right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing and missing/mismatched gear for being "designed in conjunction".

+1, except it needs to work with SSL too.

If it still has EQ and a channel fader it doesn't need a built-in soundcard. It could have a hi-speed USB hub like the new Behringer instead.
