Serato freezes up after about 10 to 15 minutes. I am playing music and suddenly the screen freezes and the DN HC-5000 can not be controlled. No matter what button I touch, it does nothing. The music is still playing. so I can mix into a CD, but I have to close itch and then bring it back up for it to work again. It will continue to happen every every 10 to 15 minutes after that. I have a MAC with over 300 gig of hard drive space and 4 gig of RAM. I just bought it about 6 months ago and had Apple look at it. They say that there is nothing wrong and suggested that I open a ticket with Serato. I googled this problem and it seems like there a others who have this product and experience the same exact problem. Is there a known issue that needs to be resolved so that I can get this to work. I am a DJ and need this to work since I have parties booked in Feb and March. Please let me know as soon as possible what I should do. Thank you.

hi,
more details would make it much easier to help you.
- which mac os version do you run?
- which ITCH version?
- what's the exact model of you mac?
- do you have all the latest mac os updates?
anyway some options would be:
- different, maybe shorter usb cable
- increase the latency
- turn everything off while running ITCH
- try a different usb port
- check the system load next time it happens
also no offence but if some apple tech had a quick look that doesn't mean much. there could be many reasons for this which you can surely not rule out by going through the standard checklist.
nevertheless, the above points should shed more light ... :-)

Hi
The itch version is 2.1. I will get the mac specifics for you and check some of the things that you mentioned. A few were actually done. I did use another usb port and the Apple technician made sure that the mac os updates were the latest. He really just checked the mac for any anomolies and ran tests on the hardware and software. He didn't specifically check how it interacts with Serato.
I will replace the USB Cable first then approach the rest as you indicated. I do have some questions about the other items. What would I do to increase the latency? Also, when you say to turn everything off, do you mean the mixer and the cd player. I believe that I need to leave the Denon DN HC-5000 on to actually use the Serato. The last item relates to the system load. Is that for the mac itself or is there check in Serato that I need to do.
Thank you..

Hey Jeff S,
Can you please let me know how you get on after trying a different USB cable? Can you also let me know if:
- You have disabled wireless and bluetooth?
- You have any other audio software installed or open when using ITCH
- Whether this has always happened or just started after updating
Can you also try opening MIDI monitor, a small application available here:
www.snoize.com
When you loose control of ITCH, can you see the MIDI messages still being sent in MIDI monitor?
Cheers,
Sam.

Hi Sam
I changed the USB cable and it still happens. Wireless is disabled and i don't believe that any other audio programs are open. When I lose control of it, I just see the mouse pointer in a working status as if it is processing something. I can't really see anything else since serato is locked up.Then it just stays that way. Last week i let it stay like that for about 30 minutes with out restarting serato, and it came back and i was able to use it the rest of the party. That never happened again. When it froze the next time, it never came back. I had to restart it. Not sure what to do next. Thanks.

Can you please let me know if you have analyzed all of your files and removed any corrupt tracks from your library? Can you also let me know whether you have tried rebuilding your database? This may be corrupt and causing problems, you can find instructions on how to rebuild this here:
