Hello,

I recently transfered across my music to an external HD and everything was working fine until I opened up ITCH the other day and it would only find about 100 out of 5911 songs i have in my itunes. The itunes is working perfectly (from the external HD) and I have a work around that I use 'mixed in key' to find the tracks and drop them into ITCH but this is a hassle and It would be nice if I could find my tracks through normal methods.

I have made sure that the 'show itunes library' box is clicked and have tried the 'rescan ID3 tags' and 'Relocate lost files' about 10 times each now and that isn't working either.... worse repeated use of this just seems to make itch crash.

I have even reinstalled and updated itch to 2.1 and that hasn't worked either.

I am using a Newmark NS6 with Mac book Pro running on lion 10.7.2 and using itunes 10.5.3

please please help as I have a gig on Friday and really would like this solved by then. Thank you in advance for your help.

What is also weird is that half of some albums can be seen and yet not the rest of it, also some songs have the itunes symbol and others dont!

Ok so I looked at the xml file and it is not been updated since 31st of Jan even though Ive been adding stuff since then, however the tags or file names of these files DO NOT contain accented or non-English characters so the work around suggested wont work.

Ontop of this even if they were that is 5850 songs that I would have to modify file names for and would be a ridiculous hassle.

Thank you for your advice but If you have any more that would be most welcome!

You have the latest version of iTunes correct?

Yeah, please help I have a gig tommorow night! As i said I have a work around but not one that is ideal!

Thank you for pointing me in the direction of the xml file malfunction. I managed to rebuild it by using the below software:
