Mix tape in the bridge is on hold with the new mixers(61,62) until they get it right. 2.4 is belived to be relised before the new mixers. Some folks are concerned about ME not working on the new version of SL.

Too many new things coming and IMHO that's not good for stability. Lion as well is a young os and needs some more time to prove itself. Add a new version of SL, new hardware, an older third party plug in (me) and you wounder what is all that will get you.

I run Lion 10.7.3 with SSL 2.3.3 + ME 1.7.2 with no issues.. as for mix tape/ableton I gave up on that a year ago. My copy of Ableton is gathering dust.

Abelton is not a Dj friendly software. If you come from the production side then yes but to the average Dj , it's a big leap. I hate the library management layout in abelton. Compared to SL, it's a fucking dinasour.

Ableton is easy to use.

Jazzy Jeff uses it so it must be good.
The Return of Dj Sparky 4:40 PM - 7 February, 2012
Jazzy and the rest will use and endorse anything they get for free

Well... One of the mods slipped and said about the mix tape so that's right on. Swiping things under the rug. Just tell me.

This is acutually great for stability, their dropping all the bells and whistles.....whats the point of a fully midi mixer then taking away everything the midis good for

mixtape functions works good for me never had problems. but using the bridge has never been fun. I still use ableton daily for editing tracks. As as the new 62/61 they are dope mixers but Im not dropping the cash for them until later this year after rane/serato works out all of the bugs.

I think the biggest problem with SSL is that it doesnt appear to be developed to accomodate software scalability. Meaning everytime they change something the software basically has to get reengineered from the ground up. I could be wrong

And one more thing. Never buy the first generation of
Anything. I have lived by this motto.

OMG! Look I feel this is all speculation. Shit who would've ever thought a piece of software would be great for the back (and that statement is for all the veterans) But these guys created an environment for old and new DJ's. I say that to say this if you guys think for a minute that Ableton which for those of you who don't use it is a GREAT DJing software, Serato and Rane is gonna kill mix tape and all the other bells and whistles out of this DJ environment you need to STOP!
Ableton is DAW of choice IMHO
Serato is why we are here
NOW Rane made a FULLY MIDI MAPPABLE mixer, you know like the Pioneers mixer that's been king mixer for years! So if you think about it most people who try to put these three together b4 Bridge would have to buy a new sound card cables and a whole lot of unnecessary gadget to make this work.
Use your imagination people the possibilities are endless let them work their magic!
