Hello, I am using Serato Scratch with the Video SL Plugin. I am also using a Pioneer DJM-800 mixer with a Roland UME MIDI cord from the mixer to the laptop. All other software programs I own including Ableton and Traktor are working properly with the mixer in MIDI mode. I have the Pioneer set to MIDI Start, however, Serato does not pick up any of the knobs or faders and remains the redish brown color when trying to assign controls. Normally, the Roland MIDI cord lights up with 2 MIDI in/out lights to signal is working correctly, as it does with the other programs, however, with Serato the MIDI OUT light does not come on, I am wondering if there is another setting in Serato I have to check. Also, Serato is picking up the MIDI cable and I have also "Enabled" it in the settings. Thanks in advance.

Hi Larkside,

Sorry to hear your having troubles with the MIDI connection to Scratch Live, lets get it sorted. Which features are you trying to assign to the DJM 800 ?

Have you had a look at these articles in regards to troubleshooting MIDI in Scratch Live ?

It sounds like there may be a conflict in MIDI messages with the DJM 800 and the Roland MIDI cable that you are using. Have you tried another MIDI to USB cable instead ?

Can you see MIDI messages being sent while the DJM 800 and the Roland cable are connected ? You can check with MIDI monitor which signals are being sent.

If you could also detail your full computer specs this will assist us in troubleshooting the issue.
