I would like to run Serato and Ableton together and use the Akai APC40 with my Novation Dicers, but then where would I plug in the SL2?
If I try to use a powered usb hub for the controllers, not recommended I know, all I get are one or neither controller working.
As it is I just manually plug/unplug each one as I need them in my set, but that’s a hassle we shouldn’t have to deal with for the price of these macs.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone out there has found a better way or has the same/similar issue?

I’d use the firewire port somehow, but the controllers are all usb & there’s no Firewire/Usb adapter that I know of, and I’m into computers.

Anyone?

That's a bummer for mac users. I have a Win7 laptop and I don't have any problems using a USB hub. Even if I connect the SL4 to my hub it still works well.

Try a Belkin powered hub. I have 5 controllers hanging off mine without issue on my MacBook Pro.

You should be able to use a USB 2.0 powered hub without such issues.
Just don't plug your Rane hardware into it. Everything else should work fine.

I actually have the belkin powered USB but no luck as of yet. The dicer is the new addition, as this setup wouldn't work with the denon controller. Ill try it again. Last time I tried with the dicer and apc 40, the dicer would light up/change colors, but. Not work.

Im running a Mbp dual core (intel) with 500gb hdd and 8 Gb of ram. I gotta get this to work somehow. Gonna retry the belkin USB. Wish me luck and thanks for all feedback. I'll keep u updated.

You might want to check your hub is powering ok, try plugging it into the mains and connect your Dicers without connecting to the laptop. They should cycle through all the lights repeatedly.

If the hub your using doesn't work then you may just need to try others out there.
Powered is key though.

Yes.. that is a good one but its not powered.
I have been able to plug 3 midi devices into it without issues though.

Ok update time.
Although I had tried my powered Belkin usb before, I followed your advice to the letter, and guess what?
Everything is now working! SL2 + Dicer + APC40!
I've been reading these SL post for years and know that SL should be connected directed to the computer. I thought this was true for the controllers too, but guess I was wrong.
Thanks for all the help, you guys are awesome.
