My netbook was dropped destroying the harddrive. every couple of wqeeks serato would ask if I wanted to back up my files. I have it on a flash drive, but it doesn't show actual songs, just (crates, subcrates, etc. Is there any way yo reteive the priceless music collection I have to put on another comp for a show next week? And for the future is there any precautions I should take to avoid this happening again. Thnak you so much for all the help, products and excellent customer service you guys give, Scracthlifer!

Try not to drop your laptop to the ground. That should do it.

SL doesn't back up your actual tracks just crates, midi mapped files ect,..sorry to say your music is prob gone, unless you can take it to an I.T. guy that can try and recover the files off you broke HD.
In the future back up all your music on to another external plus the _Serato_ folder for your crates...I have my library backed up on three separate external HD...over kill I know but smart

Just to echo the other comments above, unless you have backed up your music somewhere else you've probably lost the lot.
Hopefully you can use this as a lesson about backing up important data.

Everyone is correct here.
Sounds like you simply have a backup of your crate files which are just files telling SSL what you've imported. They don't actually house your files.
Do you have a backup?

Sorry it happened to you. I think most people would agree that we're all so hardcore about backing up now only because we've had something similar happen in the past...
