I spoke with Zach on the phone the other day about some problems going on with my LION and SSL and he recommended I post about it here so the problem can be fixed in further version releases. Here's the problem.....I can't delete video files! When I delete them by pressing [shift+control+delete] it DOES take them out of my serato screen but doesn't put them in the trash, it pretty much just hides them because when I open up SSL again and click on FILES then add new videos the ones I deleted previously will show up. This problem is ONLY with video files, Zach told me to try and add audio files and do the same process so I did and it deleted the file and put it in the trash just fine. This problem happens 1 out of 20 or so times when I hook up my external, these problems only happen on my desktop (which is where I download and add all my videos usually and its OSX LION)
Now...I did the same exact thing on the same exact version of SSL and mirrored my steps on my laptop I play on which is Leopard and everything worked fine, everything I deleted showed up in the trash. So it comes down to the fact something is up with LION OSX when deleted only video files.

This might be crazy, but...
Have you tried cmd+shift+del instead?
I know both combos are supposed to work, but in the absence of any other idea I wonder if maybe Lion has done something odd with key combos...

Another thing, you are holding ctrl, then holding shift, then pressing delete, in that order, right?
Just you've written it down shift ctrl delete and I don't think that works in that order...

Hi DJ Reaction,
Sorry to hear your having issues with your video files in Scratch Live on Mac OS Lion.
Thanks for the detail here, as you know Video-SL is not officially supported on Mac OS Lion due to a couple of known issues that we are still testing and will be fixed in a future release of Serato Video.
As phatbob has stated above did you try COMMAND + SHIFT + DELETE ? It is unclear above if this is the shortcut that you were using. I will run some tests on a Lion machine here and let you know the result ASAP.
Do you think you could attach a couple of the files that wont delete from the hard drive or is it any random file ?
The other possibility could be the READ/WRITE permissions on the hard drive or the specific folder. This may be protecting the file.
You could also verify disc permissions on the external and internal hard drive.
Also, make sure you have Protect Library unticked in the Scratch Live>Setup>Library tab.
Let me know if this helps and we'll take it from there.

Anthony I did verify permissions and repaired and that did nothing to help. Also I think a read/write permission check wouldn't be necessary in my opinion because I'm doing the same exact controls in a different version and it works fine. Later when I get home I'll try the other way of deleting them as listed above by phatbob and see if that makes a difference. To answer your other question if it's a specific file...no. It's just any file I add. Thanks

Just tried COMMAND SHIFT DELETE and same as normal it takes it out of serato view for me but doesn't put it in the trash!

Hi DJ Reaction,
I have tested this here and it appears to be a bug on Mac OS Lion. It seems to be the case in both Scratch Live 2.3.1 and 2.3.3. This has been fixed in a Scratch Live release that will be released in the near future but I do not have a confirmed date for this.
I can understand that this is frustrating for you and the only workaround is removing files from your hard drive manually.
let me know if you have any further questions regarding Video-SL.

All good no worries I'll just use my laptop to do videos because the Leopard works fine and I'll keep a lookout for the next release of SSL. Thanks for the help
