itch has been freezing quite a bit momentarily more frequent when costume crate is uncheck as 7:30pm feb,04,2012 itch starts to crash when open ,i try an 1.7 and it loads up and work itch2.1 will not start up crashes while loading the data base

i did try rebuilding the data base before i post and it freeze up for about an hour then gave up i will try again

got itch to load up but still freeze 5-30sec when custom crate is uncheck an when try to edit settings

So when you have this option enabled you don't have a freeze? Can you please compress (zip) your _Serato_ folder and upload it to the thread please? I might need to take a look.

sorry i mean to say 55% less freezing not 95% so i still need help to fix this. i love itch but right now i have no choice but to used vdj

Can you please let me know if you rename your _Serato_ folder to _Serato_old and open up ITCH (it will be a blank library) add a few tracks and try analyze them if you still get the same crashes?

Could you please let me know how large your library is and how many crates you have?

Library is 316 GB. 3 crates, crate#1 has1600 subcrates. crate#2 has 400 subcrates & crate#3 has 12 subcrates

Sorry for the slow reply. It sounds like your library and crates are just hitting the memory limit as allocated by the operating system for ITCH. Once this happens you will run into freezing and crashing problems. We are currently working at improving our library system so that we can handle larger libraries and crate structures but unfortunately this is quite a large rewrite of the current system so might not be available for a while. We are also looking to make small optimizations though in the near future.
The only workaround I can suggest right now unfortunately is to cut down the size of your library and the number of crates you have. You will find it runs a lot smoother and won't crash.
