I'm getting duplicates of my files, if I hook up my ext hard drive one song works and the other will say "file not found". Where should i move music files or serato backup folder so that it reads from the internal HD?

Try this:

serato.com

Still with problems, can't get my music imported onto the macs hd and play. Plays fine as an ext hd. I've tried to place in a different folder, tried on the root drive as well, couldn't find any files to play. Anything else to try? All my music is on an ext hd (on the root not in any folders either). Would love to have it all inside and use ext as a time machine backup.

What are you not able to do exactly?
Copy the files music files from the external to the internal?

Try creating an ALL MUSIC folder and placing it inside the default Music folder on your Mac.
Put all your music in there.
Once done, open SSL, click files, click the Music folder in the first column, and you should then see your ALL MUSIC folder.

Hey guys had 3 different hds crap out on me, finally got my music recovered from my fourth backup hd and onto 3 new hds. I've got a lot of weddings, club events and a sweet 16 party all in the next week. And would like to try to get library inside of computer. Each time I've got my music imported into my mac the files are not found after rescanning. I'm new to mac's so is there something I missed? I tried the articles posted backed on 2/4/2012 but I screwed it up somehow, I've tried this on my pc with no problems, can anyone help walk me through this?

As long as you follow the instructions in that article you shouldn't be having any issues.
I would suggest trying it again.
If your still having issues let us know what they are and we'll go from there.
