I suggest NVIDIA w/ Intel HD Graphics.

I assume you're talking about a second gen MBP (the first C2Duo) as they were the last with ATI graphics.
It will work, make sure you've got 4gb of ram in there. But that is an old machine now, don't expect the absolute highest performance from it.
If you're talking about a first gen Core Duo, that's really gonna struggle.

Im using an intel core i7, nvidia geforce gt 330m w/Intel HD Graphics, 4 gb ram. Runs flawless. Cost $2200. In order to be the best you gotta have the best :)

Some good advice here regarding your question. I do recommend a laptop with a graphics card that has 1GB of dedicated Ram for best performance with Video-SL.
The 2011 15" MBP with 4 or 8G of Ram and the Radeon HD 6750M or better should do the trick.
Let me know if you have any further questions regarding Video-SL.
