Here is my setup:
MacBook Pro 17" (Early 2008)
OSX Lion 10.7.2
2.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
8GB RAM
NIVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 512 MB
Serato Setup:
Version 2.3.0
Using MixEmergency for video
USB Buffer is at 2
I keep all my videos on a external HD.
When I am playing music, and load a video sometimes is works and fine I have no problem. But sometimes when I lad a video it either takes a while because the mouse timer comes on. Then when I play the video, the wave forms have gaps in them and the song will not load all the way. Also there are times when I am playing videos an the wave forms start shaking and lagging. I wanted to know if there are particular setting that I have to adjust, or is there something wrong with my computer.
Any help with this would be great. Thank you in advance.

Hi DJ Type Two,
sorry to hear you're having issues. Thanks for posting your full computer specs. Have you downloaded Perian? This is a free and easy to use program for decoding video.
Also follow this guide: serato.com
Let me know if you see results after doing that.

No I have not downloaded Perian not do I know what it is. I'm going to look it up now. As far as the graphics change goes, I'll try that and get back to you. I have also upgraded to 2.3.3 and I'm reanalyzing all my music/videos. Hope all this works because I look like a complete douche when the music stops at 1am with packed house lol

@Mathew C So my computer is still reanalyzing all my files so I haven't been able to try it out on your recommended settings. But I have still been researching the issue. I came across a thread that said the TTM 57 works better on 32 bit rather than 64 bit. Could this be another reason why I'm getting these dissapering waveforms?

there was an older version of ScratchLive that didn't have 64-bit drivers but that issue has been cleared up in the latest versions.

I just downloaded Perian. After downloading I don't have to do anything else right? Also I tried to find the automatic graphics switching button but its not there. I posted a screen shot of it.

install Perian as well.
If you don't have a MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010) or MacBook Pro (17-inch, Mid 2010) the automatic graphics switching won't apply. Try raising your usb buffer.
Also try everything in this guide: serato.com
Do you have the same problem if you test with a track from the internal drive?

Ok I installed everything you told me to do. I also installed smcFanControl to try and keep my Mac cool. As far as using my external HDD so I be using the USB port or the FireWire? If so do I have to get an adapter (USB to FireWire)?

generally speaking I wouldn't think it'd make that much difference.
