I also had serato crash completely on me last night but the dump logging was not enabled. Drug a video to the deck, it hung then crashed..... Before it actually crashed there were a few tracks that made it hang but it came back to life. These are vidz I use all the time!!!!! I never had any trouble until I installed the final release of 2.3.3 (Yesterday) until then, I had been using the final beta. Also I had files that were adding every time I started serato so I rebuilt the V2 file hoping that would help, maybe that contributed to this shit I don't know but I have used VSL / Serato since they were first released with very few issues and play every single weekend live...

I checked my history, this was within one song of my full crash last night

Yeah tell me about it, the new tagging system is not compatible with the older versions and I have rebuilt overviews, retagged and analyzed the entire library on top of re-encoding 900 files that were hosed by the earler version

Today I turned on my laptop on offline mode to find it reading over 30,000 tags on startup a mixture of both .mp3 & mp4 files. I hit build overviews and it says there are 30k + to build!!!! WTF, I just played Saturday night and messed around last night to test it and all overviews had been rebuilt and I had even rescanned all the ID3 tags!!! I really think the rebuild of the V2 database using 2.3.3 has really fucked things up?

There is something screwed with the V2 database and the way the files are flagged if they have overviews or not. I just rebuilt the V2 database again and it says there are 32k files to build overviews on. They have all been built in 2.3.3 before and if you drag it to the player they show up instantly, you don't see it building it...... HELP HELP HELP

i dunno man could be a virus or something. This is why macs are bomb! Also sounds like the latest version just ain't cuttin it.

No mac vs pc bullshit, I have been using VSL since it's release and serato since the first release on PC platform with no more issues than the mac guys, this is a serato problem for sure....

I see that your video is now corrupt in 2.3.3 from checking out that file. Do you have any clean videos from SmashVidz that you haven't analyzed in this version yet? If so, could you upload one of them to the thread?

I see this happening a lot. Its very frustrating because i use to believe in Serato but over the last few updates, this is just getting crazy. There is so many problems with the tagging and corrupting files.

I know , i know.. Downgrade.... Seems that is the only thing to do

Just to post my input. 2.3.3 is very stable. I guess it depends on your hardware though. Im currently running a brand new 15.4 " Mac OS Lion , 2.3.3 , Video SL , Dicers , Rane TTM57SL , and 2 Pioneer CDJ 850-k's. I have yet to have a hangup , crash , or any other irregular performance. It has to be either video or hardware related as IMO 2.3.3 is and has been performing utterly perfect for me. Don't know if it helps but most of my mp4's are from 12inch.com

I have analyzed my entire library with 2.3.3, I do have the original file that that is not corrupt, I will up it now

2.3.3 performs nice, best since 1.9.2 but there are still tagging issues, files that keep adding themselves at start up that has been happening forever etc. I am pretty sure my one and only crash on 2.3.3 had something to do with writing a tag in the background

I have rebuilt the V2 file again and analyzed my entire library, seems okay again.
I noticed I somehow had the autofill overviews on, I don't usually have it checked, I also turned it off again. Lastly, I have been running my external drive via esata for quite some time and never had a problem but since these issues I went back to USB.

I am going to close this unless it comes back to life again.
