I am trying to batch update the tags in various fields of my video files, but every time serato crashes sometimes at end of the update and sometimes before it's done. I am trying to rewrite the label, year, and genre tags. I have removed all corrupt files and created new database files for both my hard drives. It works very fast and smooth when I rewrite mp3 files. Any ideas what is wrong?
Thanks.
Thanks.

I just realized I'm running 2.3.1. Could this be part of my problem? Will all my current mp4 tags (including cue points, key, label, comments, etc.) be kept if I upgrade to 2.3.3?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Your existing cues etc will be retained in 2.3.3 but new ones you create in that version won't show up in older versions.
A few people say they've got issues with 2.3.3 but it's been fine for me and seems to have solved the corruption issues I was having. Same goes for a lot of other users too.

The crashing problem is fixed with my upgrade to 2.3.3 and mp4 files did retain their info (except KEY, LABEL and REMIXER tags). Problems came when I tried to play my m4v files. I have many files ripped from DVDs that become m4v files after using Serato's preset for Handbrake. These files did not retain ANY of their tag, cue points, gain settings, etc. It was as if, after upgrading, that all these files had been imported in to Serato for the first time. The good news is that after some experimentation, I found that simply changing the .m4v extensions to .mp4 extensions much of the info was restored. Anything I put into the following fields was lost forever: KEY, LABEL, REMIXER. Not a big deal.
I am now in the process of re-importing all these m4v files with mp4 extensions hoping the new extension doesn't distrupt playback. I will report back if there is a long term problem to this solution.
And BTW - I've called Serato support a couple of times and they have always been very helpful. Thanks!
