Hi I-SPIN,

Could you please detail which Nvidia Geforce GTX XXX you have installed ?

Video-SL scales its perfromance according to the capabilities of the graphics card that is installed on your laptop. Once I know exactly which card you have installed I will be able to give more acurate settings for you to try.

Also, have a look at this Computer Optimization guide for Windows users;

sera.to

Have you installed the recommended video codecs for use with DirectShow on Windows laptops ?

We recommend using both of the following codecs for DirectShow for use with Video-SL:

* FFDShow www.free-codecs.com
* Haali Media Splitter (MatroskaSplitter) haali.su

Use the defaults when installing.

Note: If no codec is found, then QuickTime will be used to decode the video.

You could retrieve a DPC Trace report and attach it to this thread so I can have a look at that also.

How to retrieve a DPC Trace report; sera.to

Let me know how you get on and we'll take it from there.

Anthony

Hi I-SPIN,

Let me know if this improves performance and we'll take it from there.

No luck.it made it worse..cpu is at 92% and ram at 2.1.no programs are running n background and now with Video off the wave form has stutter issues.
DJ Russ821 12:22 AM - 29 January, 2012
I'm actually using 1.9.2. version of serato with video sl......2.3.3. crashed on me too...my cpu was running really high as well. 1.9.2. does not take up a lot of cpu for some reason and my waves don't jump and glitch as near as much.
I-SPIN 2:51 AM - 29 January, 2012
Thanks Russ.. i will try that.
I-SPIN 4:30 AM - 30 January, 2012
Russ are you running video also by chance?

Hi I-SPIN,

Sorry to hear your still having issues. Did you follow the Windows Computer Optimization Guide ?

You could try running a force QuickTime registry Script that we have available on

I have tried all that you have outlined ..the only thing is to reinstalled the 1.9.2 version of serato and the first edition of Video SL...Will keep you posted on that outcome.

Try using handbrake with VSL preset to encode your mp4 files..maybe your files are not properly encoded.
DJ Russ821 12:08 AM - 4 February, 2012
yeah i am running videos.....all mp4's
I-SPIN 12:26 AM - 4 February, 2012
As of now i updated to the resent Version and Video SL..it seem that this is a Serato issue as no picture on the output screen..the videos play just fine on Media Player ,QuickTime..driver at fine on OS..oh yeah my blood pressure and stress levels are off the charts..just saying.

Where do you buy your video files?

Are you certain they're encoded as h.264 with the right number of keyframes?
I-SPIN 2:26 AM - 4 February, 2012
@Phatbob..Its random.I get some from 8thwonder ,Crookynclan and SmashVids..but they were working before..I just dont get it.

Hi I-SPIN,

It sounds like a combination of things going on here.
You need to make sure that your video files are encoded correctly and adhere to the recommended format for use with Video-SL.
The recommended container is MP4 with the H.264 Codec for video and AAC Codec for audio.

The video part of your file should have keyframes every 15-25 frames.

If you use Handbrake to encode your video files we have created a preset you can use. There is a preset for PC and preset for Mac.

I have had a number of Video-SL users having issues with 8th Wonder video files. Just saying.. Make sure you analyze your files in Scratch Live 2.3.3 and remove any corrupt files from your Scratch Live library and hard drive. Then re-encode them.

Did you try forcing the registry script as mentioned above ?

Try installing the codec packages from this site also; ninite.com
The K-Lite and CCCP codec packages.

Are you sure that your graphics card is set to high performance ?

Hey I-SPIN,

Do you still require further assistance? Did you try Anthonys suggestions above? Are you able to answer the questions please?
I-SPIN 3:06 PM - 26 June, 2013
I did try updating the codec and checked the video card was running with full optimization ..now the video won't work at all..after trying 4-6 tracks the video will freeze and will only play audio from others tracks not the visual part..

The video will play audio from others tracks? That sounds pretty crazy.

Could you attach one of those files with the issue to this thread? Use the Attach a File button on the left hand side.

I'll send you that later when I get home..
