Im using my SL3 as an audio interface for another program and it really jacks up my CPU compared to my NI Audio 8 DJ. There's about a 10 to 15% difference. Is there some older drivers I can try or maybe some beta drivers I could test out??
Thanks for the time and info.....

Don't think so, there's only one driver, no previous betas or anything.

Ouch, that hurts. Hmmm.........do I contact RANE or keep asking here? I mean there is a huge difference. I can run my Audio 8 at 2ms running videos without any problems, with the SL3 I cant go below 7ms (just audio) and even then I get some crackle in the sound. If I go to 10ms with audio its good but with video I'll still get a crackle. There is for sure something wrong with them and its not just my system theres others that Ive talked to aswell who notice a big difference.
Thanks for the time, hopefully something can get changed.......

the asio drivers were more or less an after thought don't expect to see any news ones for a long time, took long enough for them to release in the first place

You can adjust the latency buffer for the SL3 within the System Preferences SL3 preference pane.

That's where I'm adjusting it at..........got anything else or else I'll just have to sell it.

If your computer is unable to handle a lower latency setting within the SL3 Preference pane, besides optimizing other parts of your system, there's not much else you can do, sorry.

It's not my system, its bad drivers. Like I said I can run a Native Instruments Audio 8 at 2ms while running video and not have a glitch. But the SL3 has to be set at 10ms and even then ill get a glitch every now and then. Weren't there beta drivers when the SL3 had its last firmware update?? Couldn't I try those?

Has there been any word on if there are some different ASIO drivers I can try or the previous beta drivers that were first put out?? The ASIO drivers we have now do not play nice.

What third-party application are you using with the SL3 and Audio 8?
We'd like to perform some tests. Thanks! :)

Sorry for the delayed reply. I've been out of the office and unable to respond.
Thanks for the info. Please let me know which version of Virtual DJ you're using and I'll test things with a few PCs here first.

It's been a minute since I've heard anything......... Are there other drivers I can try out or can I get the drivers from when you first put out ASIO drivers for the SL-3, they seemed to work slot better then what we have now.

Sorry for the delay.
Quick question, what firmware version does your SL3 currently have installed?

It says "v2.31"
If theres anything I can do or test out please let me know.
I use VDJ cause Im on a pc and great job on SV, it does run alot better now on my machine but its still lacking many features.
Anyways most of the guys I spin with use Serato so having the SL-3 saves me the hassle of switching boxes. I hope you understand and feel free to ask me for any help I can provide..

Yeah there is definitly something different about these drivers compared to the older ones. Please can I try something else. Im getting pops and crackles yet when I use my Maya44 or NI Audio 8 (both set at the lowest latency) it runs smoothly and thats with videos playing. I can make a video if needed?? It just seems like these are even worse then before. Please help............

Go into the Windows Control Panel and open Programs and Features and uninstall the SL3 audio drivers.
Once uninstalled, please download and install the 2.3.0 version of SSL (this version includes ASIO drivers for the SL3).
After the 2.3.0 version is installed:
Click on the Windows Start menu again
Go to All Programs
Open the Serato folder
Open the ScratchLIVE folder and double click the option "Install ASIO Drivers" and follow the prompts.
After the driver successfully installs and your computer restarts, retest (you may need to disconnect and then reconnect your Rane hardware).
Just so you know, latency settings for USB devices can be a bit arbitrary. A setting of 2 for one device may be equivalent to a USB buffer setting of 8 on another. It all depends on how the manufacturer is measuring latency. This article is all about Ethernet latency, but it directly relates to what I'm referring to; there are many ways to measure latency and most manufacturers use the method that gives their devices the lowest possible "number" (to make their device seem better than is really is). The article is a bore, but the intro is great -->> www.juniper.net
Another great article about latency -->> www.juniper.net <<-- THE TRUTH ABOUT LATENCY
Let me know if the ASIO drivers included within the 2.3.0 version give you different results and we'll go from there. :)

OK I tried what you said and there's still some spikes but it's much better. Now how do I keep these ASIO drivers cause when I reinstall the newest SSL won't it switch me back to the newer drivers??
Also Thanks for the reads learned a little. But on my machine the NI Audio 8 out performs my SL-3, my CPU shows that.
So how do I keep the drivers from 2.3.0?
Thanks for the time.......

When updating SSL, keep your SL3 disconnected to avoid ASIO driver updates :)

Any word on new ASIO drivers for the SL3?? I want to get rid of either my SL3 or my Native Instruments Audio 8 soundcard. It would be great if I could keep the SL3 but if something doesn't change with these drivers I'll have to just sell it and run 2 setups.... PLEASE CAN WE GET NEW ASIO DRIVERS FOR THE SL3???

I take it theres nothing in the works for the SL3?? These ASIO drivers are the worst, a cheap old Maya44 plays better then this thing. Can we please get a fix for this???
