Hello, I am about to purchase a pair of CDJ 200's for use withj my SL2 box. I was wondering if this will be very different from my previous setup with my CDJ 850's? I am currently using my SL2 with turntables and it works fine but I just like CDJ's better and I am getting a killer deal on this pair. I know that the 200's do not have a "vinyl" mode. Basically I am asking if it is worthwhile to purchase these little guys? I am getting them for super super cheap but also am concerned that without the vinyl mode I am going to have trouble with them and end up using them with SSL. Anyone use this setup? If it helps I have a DJM-350 and use a Lenovo Thinkpad SL500 as well as my MacBook Black 2.4GHZ model.

well if you used your cdj 850's in HID mode you cannot do that with the cdj 200's,
you will have to use the control cd's to control the software,

i had a cdj 200 and was not a big fan of it, i thought not having vinyl mode wouldn't bother me but it did, but apart from that it was a solid unit, just don't expect the effects on the cdj to work with serato

I know the 200s will not work via HID mode or the effects on them. My concern is beat matching and the jog wheels on SSL without the vinyl mode. I use effects on my DJM mostly anyway and my dicers.

CDJ-200s are so old and lacking in features, they'd have to be REALLY (like, $100 for a pair) cheap for me to bother having them at all.

When a cdj is not HID how is it lacking when using SSL? I have used 800, 850, 1000 and other than my own old 850s being HID they were all the same
I have used the 200 but not on SSL. 100 dollars for a pair? I would buy 20 pairs at that price. My question was SSL with them.

It's the lack of vinyl mode.

CDJ mode is fine for general mixing with CDs, but I find it horrible with Scratch Live.

Ok so that is my general question. SSL will not work right with these then is what you are saying. I am just sick of my turntables and these were a good deal. Ugh.

It will work. But it's not great.

I agree. The reason they're not ideal is because of the lack of vinyl/scratch mode. The jog wheel is basically useless :(

Ok thanks guys......saved me here as without the jog wheel I would be lost. I dont want to play the pitch game.
