Hi, I am brand new to video sl but have been using SL for years. I recently purchased video sl and have yet to figure it out. First question i have is how do i find videos on my computer and get them to show up in SL. I have some videos on my harddrive most of which are MP4 format. But i have no idea how to get them to show up in my video crate on serato. No video appear when i open up SL.
Second
I did one day get a video to play but it lagged tremendously and the caused the system to crash several times. It lagged so much i had no idea if i would ever be able to mix that way.
Im not sure if its because im using an SL1 or my Mac. I cant imagine its my computer so can you please help me figure this out. I ma planning on upgrading my SL1 soon but was hopeing i wouldnt be forced to right now. thanks a million

Hi premierdjx,
Sorry to hear your having problems with Video-SL. Lets get them sorted.
Firstly, I need you to detail your full computer specs including the graphics card that is installed. This will help us to troubleshoot your problems more acruately.
I would also reccomend updating your Mac OS to Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
We reccomend that all Video-SL users on a MAC OS download and install Perian. Perian is a free, open source QuickTime component that adds native support for many popular video formats. Download Perian here; perian.org
Also, have a look at this article; sera.to
If your video files have been encoded to a Video-SL compatible format then they should appear in your crate or 'All Video' crate if you have not yet imported them into Scratch Live crates.
Let me know your full computer specs and if installing Perian has helped performance at all and we'll take it from there.

Hi premierdjx,
If they only show up in iTunes then they must have Digital Rights Management from Apple and will therefore not be visible in other applications.
Do you have 'Read iTunes library' checked in Scratch Live>Setup>Library ?
The other option could be to re-encode these files using Handbrake and the Video-SL Preset for Handbrake.
Details here; sera.to
Let me know if this helps and w'll take it from there.
