it appears others have had this problem as well..haven't found anyone with lion find help for it though. i recently got a new macbook pro so i re-installed pro tools le 8.0.3, then upgraded to 8.0.5, i also re-installed sera to itch 1.8, then the upgrade to 2.0.1...im unable to open itch, but am able to open pro tools, I'm hoping its just a matter of deleting a driver file i don't need, just would need help locating it if thats the case. hope i can get this resolved asap, I'm itching to scratch again! haha

I'm unable to open any of the music softwares i recently installed on my comp now..it must be something that installed during the pro tools installation because itch and reason opened before i installed pro tools, mind you this is a brand new macbook pro with plenty of ram and processor speed so I'm assuming this should be a quick and easy fix?

Hey Itchin4Answers,
Can you please let me know if ITCH still opens without your hardware connected?

pro tools seems to open alright, its a little slow when opening but it fully opens without any error pop ups, but reason 6.0 and serato itch 2.0 freeze beforw opening and i get the "wheel of death" and have to force quit to get out, ive waited approx 10 minutes just to see if itch opened, but it never did

Ok this sounds strange. Can you open up this folder and let me know what is in there:
HD > Library > Audio > MIDI Drivers
HD > Library > Audio > MIDI Drivers

Can you try rename the _Serato_ folder in your Music directory to _Serato_old? Can you then try restarting ITCH and let me know if it opens?

didnt work....is my MIDI Driver folder supposed to be empty?

mind you, i initially had itch working after i first installed it, only worked with the built-in audio though, i then installed reason 6.0 which opened fine, as well as itch, once i installed pro tools 8.0.3 so i could install the mbox2 drive so i could use it to power external monitors, neither itch or reason will open, but pro tools opens...i also tried uninstalling itch, reinstalled itch 1.8, then the upgrade to 2.0.1...didn't work, my mbox2 and monitors i have plugged into the mbox2 work fine while just playing music in itunes though

Can you try moving the Digidesign driver files to your desktop and then try restarting ITCH?

It looks like they were interfering with ITCH for some reason. You will need these to be installed to use Pro Tools correctly though so I would suggest keeping them and putting them back when you want to use Pro Tools. I'm not entirely sure why they are causing problems but I can ask the development team and see if I can get more info.

appreciate the help, i plan on using pro tools as frequently as itch and reason so i'd like to know why it's causing that problem cause i have itch and reason on my older computer and the driver files are exactly the same and all softwares run alright...thanks again though
