Computer Pecs: MacBook Pro 2.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (17-inch) I believe its the late 2008 model.

Currently I'm getting stutters and drops of video while running Video SL. I currently have 4GB of RAM and was wondering if I could upgrade to 8GB of RAM. If anyone could help me out, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Think 8gb is the max you can put in.

But what is your video card? If its a stuttering you get, maybe the video card is not a dedicated one but a shared one.

Actually 4gb is officially the max ram for that machine.

You CAN put 6gb in but it's not worth the hassle.

I stand corrected then

Yeah i checked the apple manual and it does state you can put 8gb max in.

Errr, yeah, sorry I gave you the wrong advice there!

I think yours must be one of the models that could take 8gb after a firmware update in 2010. Because MacTracker still says what I told you, and that's never let me down before...
