It happends several times in the beginning and then randomly from once an hour to once every secound hour...Tried switching to another USB port and kill as much programs on my computer as possible, and it does not help. Can you help me? It has been like this after a few week when I got the NS6. I bought it in september...

Hi
I've been experiencing my share of dropouts. Here's something that worked for me.
through your BIOS Setup enable USB power share, and set it to whatever value works for you. for me it was 50%. Solved my problem.
Let me know if that helped and merry Christmas.

Ok, that sounded like a good solution. I tried to enter my BIOS settings, but the F****** F10 key doesnt work! All the other keys work though, so there is probably something wrong with that singel key?
Do you have any other possible solutions i could work around?
Thanx for the reply and merry Christmas to you aswell ;)

I have absolutely no idea on how you could work around this. I am not really a computer geek myself. This is a fight you'll have to win alone. :)
Maybe ask your tech support at the store you bought your computer from ?

Hey DJ Kongsy,
Sorry for the late reply. Can you please try a couple things for me :
- Try using a different USB cable. They often become damaged and you might find that's the problem. Also make sure you have nothing else but the NS6 plugged into your computer.
- Reinstall the latest Windows drivers for your NS6 from here : www.numark.com ('Documents and Downloads')
- In ITCH, go to the Setup screen and drag the USB Buffer size to the far right and see if that helps.
Let me know :)

I tried to reinstall the drivers, it did not work, though the dropout lasts alot shorter. I already had the buffer size on max. I will purchase a new cable shortly and see if that works. Just for LOL's I will try to install itch on a different win7 pc and see if the problem is still there, if not its probably my pc thats the problem. Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Totally different system here but.
I have a MacBook Pro. It has 2 USB slots on it.
If I plug in 2 USB devices. My NS7's start dropping in and out nonstop.
If I just plug in the one USB Device (my ns7's). Everything is fine!

That's due to your latency time. A huge latency time means trouble handling real time audio and translates into dropouts and cpu spikes. try downloading this:
resplendence.com
It'll monitor you computer and in the driver section you'll see which drivers have the longest latency. By disabling these, you'll prevent your NS7 from having dropouts.
Usually disabling the wifi card is enough.

Hey DJ Kongsy,
Did you try a new cable? Any difference? Also did you get the same problem with a different computer? That would help us narrow down what could be happening here.
A couple other suggestions/questions :
- Make sure you have the latest firmware installed, you can check by going to the Hardware tab of the Setup screen. If there is an update available make sure you update it.
- Do you have anything else plugged into your computer at all, other than the NS6?
- Can you please run a DPC report and upload it to this thread. This will let me know if your computer is having USB latency issues. This will show you how : serato.com
- Also make sure you follow these system tweaks : serato.com (in particular the power and screensaver options).
Cheers.

Hey!
I can with great pleasure tell you that i found the solution!!!!
I tried everything i ask earlier, but it did not work. Therefor i tried to install everything on my friends PC. The result was flawless, so i figured it had to be a software problem or my computer specs, not my NS6(and that would be awfull).
Therefor i reinstalled everything, and restartet my computer several times and did everything "by-the-book".
The result was that i ended up with a different version of itch then the one i had before. I have been playing for several hours now and i works perfect! I am using Itch for numark NS6, i believe i used a standard version before.
So, there you have it! Problem solved! Thank you very much for all your help!

Hey DJ Kongsy,
That's great to hear. Are you able to let me know what version of ITCH you are running now?
You can check in the Setup screen inside ITCH, on the bottom left corner.
If you aren't already on ITCH 2.1 I suggest you update to that and see how that works for you. You can download it here : serato.com
You should be fine with this version but if you aren't let me know and I'll help you sort it :)

I am currently running ITCH 1.8.1.
I'll update to 2.1 when I get home from school and plug in my NS6 to see if it works.
I'll get back too you!

I did the update and after playing for about 20 min, the dropouts came back twice...
What to do now?
The 2.1 is so much better then the 1.8.1....

Hey DJ Kongsy,
A couple things I want you to try :
- Make sure you have the latest firmware installed (check in the Setup screen)
- Upload a DPC trace report to this thread.
- Make sure you are calibrating your NS6 everytime you turn it on. To do this simply touch both platters with your hands straight after you power it up. This will calibrate it, failing to calibrate can result in audio dropout and random platter behavior.
Cheers :)

Logan, I did everything you said, but it didn't help. What did solve my problem, was disabling my Wifi driver and card. this way it kept the latency time to a minimum, and my laptop could easily handle Itch.

That's why I'm asking Kongsy to upload a DPC trace report. This will tell me straight away what is potentially causing the USB latency i.e Network Connection, Bluetooth, USB drivers etc and then we can go from there.

I can see some very high latency coming from your dxgkernel. I believe this is the Direct X graphics card. What you should do is update your graphics card drivers in Device Manger. To do this go to Start and type in 'Device Manager', and open up the 'Display Adapters' tab and right-click and 'Update Drivers' on the drivers here. Alternatively you can try download the update from the graphics card manufacturers site, this will show you how to do it > kb2.adobe.com
This is almost certainly the cause of your dropouts. I also noticed your network connection wasn't turned off. This wasn't as high as the latency caused by your graphics card by I would suggest turning it off/disabling it whenever you DJ.
Let me know how you go :)

To turn the wifi off, you have to right click on computer, go to properties, from the device manager tab, scroll to the network cards section and manually disable the wifi card. this will shut it down completly. You can of course turn it back on by clicking on enable.

A lot better! Good job, that should help you a lot you've reduced the latency quite a bit.
And did the MIDI light turn on when this happened? What is your buffer size set to now? You've tried it at a higher setting right? Was there any difference?
You're computer is only sitting just above the minimum specifications to run the NS6 but it should still be fine, you shouldn't be expecting 5 second dropouts.

I'm having some problems again. I just bought a new computer, a samsung 7series Chronos with win8. I have the i7 processor and 8 gb RAM.
The problem now is not so much the dropouts, its that when I try to download the itch for my ns6 it looks like I get a software for a ns7 or v7 or something like that, because in the setup I have an option to update the firmware on my controller and adjust the platterspeed. So, as you understand, something is not right. Maybe the download link for itch on ns6 is wrong?
Please reply as quick as possible.

...and when I press the pause button while a song is playing, it automaticly do a braker effect. WTF???
dizzyrocks2001

When you download ITCH you need to indicate which controller you are downloading it for by checking the checkbox next to the corresponding controller on the download page. But as far as I know the controller should recognize which controller is connected so you shouldn't be seeing any features in the setup menu that aren't available to be used with that particular controller. Can you be more specific when you say you have the option to "adjust the platter speed"? Is it giving you the option for 33rpm & 45rpm or is it showing options for start-up speed and braking speed?
As for the "braker effect" when you press pause... this is not the braker effect engaging, it's the brake speed setting in your setup menu. Go to the playback section of the setup menu and adjust the braking speed to zero if you want the song to come to an instant stop when you hit pause.

I did check out the ns6 checbox when I downloaded the software, thats why I think it is very peculiar that I have the option to change the platterspeed. And yes, I did have the option to change from 33 rpm to 45 rpm. But now, all of the sudden, I dont. I have installed and reinstalled the software over 10 times, so I dont remember what I did different, but it looks ok now. I dont have the option to update my firmware either, so I think everything is good now.
Thank you so much you f**** software God, you made my day with the braker speed. Everything works perfect now, so I think I'm gonna use my new latop for my gig tonight.
Thank you so much!

Well, of course, when I checked the itch software before I did not have the controller plugged in. So, when I plugged it in now, the option for adjusting platterspeed and updating firmware came back. Any tips for that software God?
Braker speed is fixed :)

No problem, happy to help. Unfortunately I don't know how to fix the platter speed option as I don't own an NS6 (I have the V7s), although if I'm not mistaken you're supposed to have the NS6 physically plugged in while you're installing the software... maybe that will work.

Can't you see what has been written abow?
Anyways, the problem is that I just bought a new computer, so I had to install the itch software on the new computer. It seems like it works fine, but I am troubled and not certain that everything is as well as it seems, because when I go to the setup I have the option to update the firmware of my controller and I have the option to choose the platterspeed between 33 rpm and 45 rpm. I use the NS6, so as you know I don't have the turning platters. Why do I have these options? Do I have the wrong version?
Here is what I did when I installed the software:
- Went to this page: serato.com
- Check the NS6 checkbox
- Startet installing the software
- When I got prompted, I connected my controller and turned the controller on.
- Finished the install and opened the software.
Any idea?

O.K, Don't be concerned about that '33' '45' option in your ITCH setup. You have the right software and it sounds like everything is running smoothly. That option changes the platter speed yes, but only the lights that go round the platter. Test it out :)
There is also supposed to be an option to be able to update your Firmware. If it says update available then click on the icon to update.
