Can you please let me know your computer specifications? Have you got the latest versions of FFDShow and Haali Media Splitter installed?

Can you also let me know if there is any specific set of steps you can take to reproduce the crash or any particular files that cause it or does it happen randomly? What will you be doing at the time of the crash?

I Use The TTM57 sometimes and I also use the serato sl1 box with video sl..
it crashes with either one, if i can remember correctly it also crashes without either of the boxes connected as well...
i will be doing nothing but playing a mp4 and it will crash the video only but continue playing the music... the video will just freeze and the error pops up. i dont close the error because if i do it forces serato to close completely. ive lost my main gig because of this issue happening over and over and another dj has taken my job. so i am really desperite to get this resolved. i can just leave it playing in auto and leave the room, when i return its frozen again. no rhyme nor reason, no certain songs will cause it either. it happens when i play outa my crates and even straight out of a file folder. however i am running all of my crates out of a 2 tera byte siegate external hard, ive made sure that the hard drive is set to never go in sleep mode. i can call u to speed things up if needed.

Can you please try out the latest Scratch Live 2.3.3 invite beta release? This has some fixes and stability improvements for .mp4 files and it would be good to know if your issues are still present in this release. Check your private messages for a link to the beta area where you can download this.

question, how do i install? do i delete my existing serato version first from the control panel? and will i loose my crates? and what about my video sl?

Hate to be the barer of bad news, but here's where your problems might be.. I don't think your PC has the right spec... or you might want to try using 1.9.2 or 2.0. The newer update have MAJOR issues with running video's, there are a few oc user who run VSL with out any issue but i think they use older version of SSL to do the video's with

You can just install this version and it should install the new version over the top. It won't affect your crates at all and you will still have Video-Sl enabled.

so far no more crashes, do u know of any type of program that can test scan my mp4's for errors? something that can find bad mp4's so i can delete em? anyone know?

Scratch Live should detect these if you analyze your files. Any corrupt files with have a lightening bolt icon associated with them and you can delete these from your library.

The crashes that were happening previously look like they may have been related to the way we were writing tags in 2.3.1 rather than your files if these are analyzed and not corrupt.

Some of the files i found that were bad have be analyzed and not marked as bad with lighting bolt, thats why im concerned because serato didnt recognize that the mp4's were corupt. so now i have to manually check each mp4 file with windows media player. if it is bad it will crash my windows media player when i skip through it. but im looking for a faster way since i have thousands of mp4's to check.

Try a couple of your bad files in this and see what that says about them... Might be a quick indicator. At least you might find something in the results that all the bad files have in common, and use that info to weed them out.

It is the late 2008 model, model #A1260. No CD/DVD drive, It was recently cleaned and upgraded to a 750GB hard drive. 4GB of upgraded RAM. Has OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard preinstalled.

The second laptop im looking to buy is a HP DV6 with a AMD a8, AMD A8 Quad Core processor, 8 gb ram, 640 gb hard drive, beats audio

any feed back or anyone know if either of these laptops have issues running Serato Video Sl... please let me know.. thanks everyone!

The HP is at least twice as powerful as the Macbook Pro.

But for video, you should absolutely still buy the Macbook Pro.

I have heard issues with AMD Processors which are quite frequent. I'd suggest buying a refurb macbook pro.

DO NOT buy an AMD processor to use with Scratch Live AT ALL.
