After the latest update some of my old/new mp4 files are NO LONGING playing. The wave preview comes up, but the main preview does not. The cursor also does not appear, if I hit play on INT mode the time counts but nothing happens. This also seems to corrupt the mp4 file, many videos that have worked over the last year will not run in Quicktime any longer either. Many times I have tried replacing a copy of the mp4 from the original source and Serato must cache information because they dont work.

It's like something is being written to all these files and corrupting them.

Hi castle,

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your Scratch Live and Video-SL. The issue that you have detailed has come to our attention recently as a BUG and we have been working hard to resolve this issue.
There is a Scratch Live maintanence release 2.3.3 in Invite Beta at the moment. You would be a candidate to test this Beta and see if it resolves the issue you have been experiencing.

I will add you to the 2.3.3 Invite Beta list. Please check your Private Messages next time you login to serato.com.

Could you please start a help thread detailing the issues that you have been experiencing with Video-SL and I will assist you there and we may look at the 2.3.3 Invite Beta as an option.

Still having issues with mp4 files corrupting in the newest beta release (18) - It doesn't seem to happen every time, I haven't been able to duplicate it with the same files. About 25% percent of the time mp4 files get corrupted after "analysis"

Yeah i was having this problem loads and i kept downloading the corrupt ones again then just adding them to the folder its replaces the corrupt file then go to serato and analyse the mp4 again and it was fine but this takes loads of time so now i run every video though handbrake first and it solves the problem even the old corupt files it fixes so no need to download again

so now every video gets run though handbrake with the serato preset the added to serato and analyse and they are all fine now done that for the last 5 or 6 adds and its perfect :-)

Hi castle,

As Dj matty k has detailed above it sounds more like your files are indeed corrupt. They may still play in other media players but Scratch Live will deem them as corrupt if they do not adhere 100% to the container file standard. ie, mp4. They possibly have dropped frames etc..

It is recommended that you use Handbrake with the Video-SL Preset to encode your video files to be compatible with Scratch Live and Vieo-SL.

Where did you get the files from ? Video pool ?

You could attach one of the files to the thread so I can have a look at it here.
