Sorry to hear you are having issues with your Video-SL and Scratch Live. Lets get it sorted.

So as I understand the TAG information is dissappearing after you have edited the TAG of a Video file and then analyze the file ? Does the same problem occur if you analyze the file first and then edit the TAG and re-scan ID3 TAGs ? Do you edit your TAGS in the OFFLINE player ?

Did this only start happening after you installed Scratch Live 2.3.1 ?

This could be related to an issue with the MP4 TAG LIB which we have been working through here and will be released as a Scratch Live maintanence release. This will be available shortly but we are still testing in Beta at this stage.

If you could let me know the details above and if you could include your full computer specs including the graphics card that is installed this will help us troubleshoot your issues.

offline player. after I analyed the videos and the bpms, the tracks would the id3s would disapear but it was happening with out me knowing because I would import a bunch of tracks (mp3s) and I would hit analyze and for some reason it would analyze a few video tracks here and there. then one day I was sorting through my videos and realized that 50 or more tracks were missing genres, and artist tags. I tag everything the minute it hits SL.

Apperently I can't reduplicate the problem now, But I sure aint gonna hit teh analyze button. I'll just analyze the tracks manually as I import them. Can I get in on that beta test?

So, as I understand it this was happening before you updated to 2.3.1 ? Is this still happening in Scratch Live 2.3.1 on your laptop ?

The Beta may be an option that we look at I just want to clarify the details regarding your issues.

The problem is with 2.3.1

Randomly when I cue up a video track tags disappear from the artist and genre column

I knda forgot about it because went back to using 2.3.2 but I'm finding random bugs with 2.3.2 and crashes after I close serato in the off line player.. Not so much worried about it.. 2.3.3 is very solid for the exception of my video tags disappearing

If the files that you are talking about support metadata and do not have .ovb or.xml files then the tags should not be dissapearing in Scratch Live 2.3.3.

Could you please attach one of the files that keeps loosing tags to this thread so I can have a look at it here.

basically when you import the track into sl and retag it (artist,title bpm,genre comments, Usually the genre and comments will disappear

this file completely reverted back to the original file after I renamed it and then cued it up

I downloaded the files analyzed them in Scratch Live 2.3.3 and set cue points and tags.
Ejected the track and exited Scratch Live.
Re-opened Scratch Live and loaded the tracks to the virtual deck. All OK.

Are you sure you have READ/WRITE permissions on the directory where this video file resides ? You could verify disk permissions on you hard drive Applications>Utilities>Disk Utilities

Also, have you re-built your database V2 file recently ?

read/write is ok but I have not renamed my database v2 in a long while.. I guess I shall do that. Afeter I rename it what will happen. I know that all the date added will be at the time I do it and I guess I will have to re import music that is currently not in a crate correct?
