Hello everyone,
When i'm using Serato Scratch Live, I noticed that the pitch on the right hand side of the circular virtual deck fluctuates between +/- 0.1% or sometimes +/- 0.2%. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my turntables?
I'm using 2X Technics 1210 M5G's and a Rane TTM57sl

i would say pretty normal for turntables to get a little bit of float in the pitch :-)
Have you tried it on cdjs and does it do the same ?

Tables must be beat up then cause I could see the .1% but .2%, might need to get your tables refurbished.

A bit of fluctuation is normal but having your decks not properly calibrated can attribute to fluctuations.

I'm pretty sure they're not beat up. I bought it off a friend who only had the tables for about a year, and they were kept inside a coffin the whole time in his studio. I tried to calibrate them but I still get the pitch fluctuation. How do you guys keep a perfect beatmatch between two tracks if you have to constantly adjust the tracks so that they are matched?

I don't have CDJ's, but i'm pretty sure they don't have that problem since none of them run on vinyl

Thats my point, you shouldnt have to ride the pitch.......something is wrong, dont know if its your tables or the software but you shouldnt have to ride the pitch. Like I said .1% is cool but if your getting .2% something is wrong.

Dang.....I guess I can find a place nearby and get it refurbished. I just hope they don't charge too much for the service

Your turntables are probably fine. As mention, a little fluctuation is normal. Anyone who's used Scratch Live for a long time (with turntables) will tell you you do have to babysit the mix and ride the pitch a lot more and or nudge the platter.

Ah I see. I played with them again and the pitch fluctuation is normally +/- 0.1% or sometimes but not usually +/- 0.1%. I guess i'm not used to riding the pitch
