Sound dropping out and bit crusher effected out of mainouts of the vci - no midi notification on the app and this is very frustrating since i have used itch without issue on outdated machines. I just baught a sony Viao VPCEJ14FX/B and had soiund dropp outs I returned the PC and bought an even more expensive i7 machine with 4 gbram and now its the same issue. This machine has 2 USB 3.0 ports and as i am typing the VCI just froze up. i have had the USB buffer from far right to far left and all positions have the drop and diital crack sounds. The wave form stops the sound drops out etc. The firmware is up to date becasue i did that on the prior purchase because the performance issues. I used a dell latitude 620 w1gb ram and this was not an issues and on my old Apple G4 Power book and although that processor was maxed out there was never a drop out in sound. as i am typing the drop outs are conatsnt this is rediculous.I mhave set tup the PC for performance and i can not beleive what is happeningI have a quad cor that can not play a song? I just dicon the VFX1 and still there are interuptions. i need HELP. I can not affor another MAC so what PC lalptop will work? Does SONY just not agree with Serato software? Need you jelp asap - i have 10 days to return this thing.

Last nbight i updated all drivers from Sony's website. Only 1 driver update for the usb 3.0 controller. 1 driver for bios 1 driver for chipset and all others are for sony viao apps so i did not update those. Is there an issue with wINDOWS 7 AND sERATO / vESTAX?

Hey klozher,

There are no known issues with Windows 7 running ITCH. I'm not quite sure what the problem is yet but I'm sure we can figure it out. Can you please answer a few questions for me :

- Is the only problem that the sound quality is bad and that the audio keeps dropping out? Do all the controls on the VCI work with ITCH?
- Does your computer only have USB 3.0 ports? Are there no 2.0 ports? Can you try plugging the VCI into all of the USB ports to see if it works with any of them. Make sure you have nothing else connected but the VCI.
- Has your VCI-300 every work properly? When did this start happening?
- What version of ITCH are you currently using? You can check in the Setup screen in the bottom left-hand corner. Let me know.

A couple things to do :
- Can you try using a different USB cord. It sounds silly but this is a very common cause of dropouts, audio degradation as USB cords can often become faulty. Try a different one and see if this helps.
- Can you follow our USB dropout article here : serato.com I recommend uploading a DPC trace report for me to look at.

Cheers :)
