Hi
I'm a DJ that spins house/electro and R&B most of the time. House and Electro I mix at 131 bpm.
But when I want add some R and B songs to it (most of the R&B songs are 60 - 160 bpm) then my cdj's go out of line.
He can't handle the different bpm's. Sow when I go back to the house/electro he thinks that 131 (is pitched up above)
Normally the 131 bpm is in the middle.
Sow when I want to mix to a house/electro song again I have to put the pitch high above. But that's not normal.
This video shows my problem perfectly

I hope someone can help my problem. All my cdj firmware's are updated to v4.04.
Greetings.

That's weird!
Did you have that problem with 2.2? I'd give that a try and see if this is a problem with 2.3.

2.2 also gives the same problem.
I first had a SL1 but I got SL4 for 2-3weeks now. Just the exact problem....

Check the pitch range within the Scratch Live virtuals deck and make sure both have the same setting.

I'm gone mix with cd's and see if the problem is towards serato or the pioneer cdj 2000

Cool, let me know what you find. My guess is that there's a discrepancy between the range setting on the CDJ 2000 and the range setting within the Scratch Live virtual decks.

Sow I tried.
(1) when I have this problem. To try using cd's afterwards.
(2) to pitch in Serato
both solutions didn't fixed anything....

For # 2, did you check the pitch range option (above the virtual slider)? Perhaps the pitch range is set to 100%

When I bought the cdj's 2000 (2x of them) :: firmware 3.2 everything was fine.
Upgrading to firmware 4.2 the problems started. When I was mixing true different genre's of music (bpm's) my cdj's pitch went sky high.
I upgraded them to the new firmware 4.5 and 1 of the CDJ's is perfect now. I got no problems with that what so ever.
Only the other one is still going absolutely wrong...
I have this problem with CD/USB/Serato... so again I have this with or without Serato.
I think the problem lies with the firmware. The only thing you can do is downgrade it (reboot it). When the settings are perfect (pitch) then upgrade it to 4.5 and I think then will the problem be solved. That's what I did with the other CDJ and it is functioning nice now.
So my guess is that the problem is situated on the CDJ-2000.
Can I downgrade the firmware from the CDJ-2000 somehow?

Good question. Unfortunately, I don't know the answer. I suggest contacting Pioneer for support > 800-421-1404 :)

Pioneer are the absolute KINGS of poor online customer communications.
I swear they just think people who buy their gear are scum.
