hi i have just recently started playing with videos after using scratch live for just audio for a number of years but im haveing real problems, Im only useing the demo version at the mo before i buy the video plugin but no matter what format my videos are in I dont get a propper output audio seems ok but the video is really jerky if any at all. I’ve tried virtual dj using the same videos and running the time code and sound thru my sl1 and although i can’t stand the program it runs and mixes the videos perfectly with no audio or visual faults at all so i know my laptop can handle it but I’m running out of ideas any suggestions
Im using a:

Intel® Core™ I5 CPU M430 @ 2.27GHz
6.OOGB Ram
Windows 7 64bit

Hi flames16,
If it is playback and performance of the video files that is unstable it may be the performance settings in your Video-SL Setup. Could you check what you have your Video Buffer Set to and whether or not V-sync and Frame Blend are on ?
It really depends on the video files characteristics also, the video container used and the codec.
The recommended container is MP4 with the H.264 Codec for video and AAC Codec for audio.
Have you installed Handbrake for Windows with the Video-SL Preset ?
You can download here: sera.to
This is recommended for you to conform your videos to a Video-SL friendly format.
Have you analyzed the .MP4 files that you have imported into your Serato Library ? Corrupt files in your library will cause unstable playback. You need to remove all corrupt files from your library.
Could you also double check which version of Scratch Live you are using which can be found at the bottom left of the Setup screen in Scratch Live.
And lastly if you could give me more detail on your laptops video card.
Let me know how you get on and we'll take it from there.

Hi flames16,
Do you have the direct show codecs installed ?
* FFDShow
* Haali Media Splitter (MatroskaSplitter)
Download on this link: sera.to
You need to enable V-Sync on your video card settings when using Video-SL on a Windows machine. You can read the steps for switching your video cards V-sync on here: sera.to
Try these couple of steps and let me know how you get on.
I would recommend updating to a latter version of Scratch Live also. You could update to version 2.2.2 or 2.3 will be released in the very near future.
