Hi Breakie,

Are you using an authorized version of Video-SL ?

I will need a little more detail in regards to the symptoms that you are facing with your Video_SL Plug in. You say it is un-stable but at what point does it become unstable ? Does it crash the program ? Or does it just hang on Video-SL ?
Is it performance and display problems that you are having ?
Also, could you give me more detail on your computer specs, processor, ram and video card.

Let me know these couple of details and we will take it from there.

Yes (of course) I'm running an authorized version.
At first (on loading a video to a deck) the system slow down, the serato SL screen sometimes messes up and finally serato crashes. On occasion I even had problems getting it restarted (even after after a complete reboot)

About display: sometimes it is flawless, sometimes the video is stuttering...

Computer: Dell XPS 1530
Core 2 Duo
4GB ram
160GB Intel SSD
NVIDIA GeForce Go 8600M GT

Other info:
In many cases serato crashes on analyzing the video files or on trying to write to the tag of video file....

Hi Breakie,

Sounds like it may be a couple of things.
What are your Video-SL Buffer settings on ? Is V-Sync on ?
I understand all your music and video files are on your 160GB SSD ? No external USB hard drive ?
If Scratch Live is crashing while analyzing this is usually due to a corrupt file and you need to determine which file it keeps crashing on and delete the corrupt file/files from your library.
You could upload one of your problem .MP4 files to this thread and we can have a look at it. Also if Scratch Live is 'crashing' you could upload a Crash Dump report for us to have a look at.
How To: Get a Crash Dump in Windows 7 here: sera.to

Alternatively there is a Public Beta of Scratch Live 2.3 available here: serato.com

You could give this a try.

Let me know how you get on and we'll take it from there :)

no, the video files are on an external drive.
everything else including audio is on the ssd
i will try to find out wich file is corrupt...
make a crash dump file...

right now i'm testing with another external drive

Hi Anthony,

I found lots of corrupted files...(seems somthing happened while copying the files)
I also switched to another external disk (usb 2 instead of the former usb 3 disk) attached to an usb 2 port.
I removed all video files from my library, added the non corrupt ones and now I am re-analyzing all the remaining files.
I will keep you posted on how this works out.
BTW Would an I7 based laptop improve video playback and handling? Are there still issues with an I7 processor and the SL1????

Hi Breakie,

Let me know how you get on.
Microsoft have not yet fixed the USB issue with i series processors. Only some users have encountered issues when connecting USB 1.1 devices. There are workarounds for this problem detailed in the FAQ which you can read here: sera.to
