Basically, the FX tabs / boxes are grayed out and when I go into the graphics properties on the Video SL setup>info menu it says that FX are not possible. The laptop has Intel HD graphics and a 2.53 core i3 processor and meets all the listed requirements for Video Sl, from what it says on your site. Here are the official marketing tech specs from Sony: www.docs.sony.com
Any ideas on why I can't get FX on the videos ?
Thanks,
JHD

The i3 machines have the Processor and Graphics on the same Chip. This means that the graphics card is going to be severely restricted.
I would suggest using an i5 or i7 machine that actually separates the Processor and Graphics chips, like it is supposed to be.

Thanks for the suggestion. Here's mine: How about putting that little detail in your list of Video SL requirements and specifications somewhere that is, I dunno, say ACTUALLY VISIBLE AND OBVIOUS ON YOUR VIDEO SL WEBSITE. This PC is totally fine for any other video applications I've used. Basically your suggestion boils down to "just be richer." Thanks. Is there is seriously no way to tweak anything to make the FX work ?

I understand your frustration, but these i Processors are new technology and with that said, one should always do research about new products as they are released. I would have compared the i3, i5 and i7 machines amongst eachother - not by price, but what they offer. The i3 machines are simply a lower shelf version of the i processor series.
There are different types of i Processors out there, some are said to be designed differently, this is why it is not posted on our Minimum Specs as it may not apply to ALL i3 Processors.
As of now, we do not know of anyway to tweak this and make it work. However, there might be something out there that just hasnt been brought to our attention.
