Hi all,

i have read some of the threads about the video flashing white.
But they are all close do to inactivity.

I have done some extra research and i found that:

1 - this happens regardless of the videos i am playing. So it is not video related.

2 - i have openned the task manager when the video is flashing, and i saw thaht every time this happens the videosl plugin is using 1.5 gigas of ram, so maybe there is an issue with this.
I kill the videosl process and everything go back to normal.

any ideas?
i havent tested this at home yet.
for ingo my computer has 4g of ram.
graphich card gtm 425m, 1Giga


2 extra questions.
1 - some times when i load the next video on the deck, and i scroll it to find the place where i want to start, the fps on the output video drops to 15 -17 fps.
Therefore i have to find the point where i want to start quickly, and not use the cue button too much before playing it to avoid video lag.
Maybe this is due to the heat of the club i am playing. because before it didnt happen.

2 - when filling this help request i saw "wich versions of scratch live are you using" 2.2.2 ? is this a beta one?
as i am on 2.2 and when i click the update button is says i am up to date.

i dont have my sl3 to see the serial, but i registered the info on my profil, so the serato team could see it.

Hi DJCarlos.,

How far into your Set does this happen ?
What setting do you have your Video-SL Buffer On ? Try lowering this ....
Is Use Frame Blending and V-Sync On ?
Have you optimized your computer for audio/video ?
Do you switch off your wireless and scheduled tasks when you do live Sets ?

You can download Scratch Live for Rane SL 2 and SL 4 this is the 2.2.2 version ( had fixes for the hardware ) here: sera.to
This may help with your issue....
Also, update your Graphics Card Drivers this may help.

It does sound like Video-SL is using a lot of processing power and it may be overheating make sure that you have good ventilation around your laptop when you're gigging.

Try these couple of things and give me a little more detail and we will try and get to the bottom of the issue :)

Hihi, i should give you more details before you event ask, my mistake.

This is happening around 4hours of work.
In setting i am using medium.
Buffer 1g.
No frame blending, and no V-Sync.

Using windows 7 (and after deep test) . I realized that for me having Aero enabled is better for performances than disabling it.
The drivers are up to date.
i will download v2.2.2
wireless is off, and in my computer nothing works besides serato. No scheduled task either.

Maybe is because of the heat because it started some days ago.

I also see something weird yesterday, it had already happen befre but i forgot to mention:
Sometimes the outpout video is displayed like if it was a 14fps.. but on the serato videosl configuration window i saw that the buffer images where 168 for each deck) and between 45 for the output window.
after 20-40 sec it comes back to normal (so i just put the logo of the club during that time.

I will try al of that, and check if newer drivers are out.
and i will come back with the info.
(but probably not this week, busy busy)

If it is an issue with overheating SMC Fan Control is a good free app for regulating the fans.
