I understand that you can map each button separately on the Kontrol X1 but I would like to, and can't seem to figure out, where to find, and how to load a premade Serato template (if thats even possible). It also isn't detected in Serato's midi device list and I also tried the "shift+hot cue" trick with no luck either. Sorry i've been trying to dive through these forums for answers but nothing seems to work. Thanks alot.

The X1 for some reason does not show up in the MIDI list, but it will still work.

You can load a pre-made template, just put the .XML for it in this folder

C:/.../My Documents/My Music/_Serato_/MIDI/

(if you don't have a MIDI folder yet in your _Serato_ folder, just make a new folder and name it "MIDI" and put the file in there)

Then open Scratch Live, go into the setup menu, MIDI tab page, and load the file.

Pressing Shift+Hot Cue just puts the X1 into regular MIDI mode, which you do want to be in. If you open the Control Editor software program for the X1 (or in Traktor also if you have it installed), there's an option to always start the X1 in MIDI mode when you first plug it in.
